Dude Jeff George was known to have a shytty attitude with coaches and still got multiple chances. Plus he was did not have the playoff success of McNair and wasn't overall considered as good as a QB as McNair. George was considered a pure potential type of dude. It was always if he only did this fight or if he only committed himself. Folks were in love with dudes arm and throwing motion.

Steve McNair was arguably a border line HOF who carried that team for years. He also took that team to the Superbowl and two AFC championship games. There was no reason to lock him out of the work out facility.

The titans literally chained up the door of the workout facility to not let him in. Then they told him to go home and not come back. Only to trade him before the sseason started.

McNair should be an HOFer but will never make it in posthumously now....media would eat that story alive.

If you think a coach or gm is more worried about preserving the white race at qb then keeping his job then you're a complete idiot :mjlol:
Okay - so let's say a coach has the option of choosing to play his black QB, who he knows has better upside, or his white QB that his fanbase seems to give more support. Which does he choose in this scenario to "preserve his job"?

You're oversimplifying it.

LMAO at this typical CaC response. :laff:

And yes, I know you're a CaC because you're trying to argue that a Black QB being replaced by another Black QB somehow makes unfair treatment of the first Black QB OK.

I'm not white, clown, just educated.

I'm saying there is no such mistreatment of Black QBs at this time in the NFL. This false report is a distraction. Try reading a book sometime so you can offer insights too.

Google the word 'discernment'.

Tomlin has a super bowl ring and has continued winning with a revamp d and steelers letting dudes like Emmanuel Sanders, mike Wallace walk

Negged

Since Tomlin decided that current Arizona Cardinals’ head coach and then Steelers’ offensive coordinator Bruce Arians needed to retire, Tomlin has a 22-20 record. In that same time, Arians has led the Colts (interim head coach) and the Cardinals to a 28-10 record.

dikk LaBeau runs that defense and Todd Haley does the offense. Tomlin is just loved everywhere for no clear reason.

HARD EVIDENCE?! HA Take off the tinfoil hat.

If you don't see the flaw in this argument, then I don't know what to tell you. Ok, maybe I do...

Problems: Small sample sizes, disproportionate number of white to black QBs, black QBs benched for other black QBs (EJ Manuel), mixed race QBs (Is Russell Wilson considered "black"? He's also a white QB), number of black backup QBs, etc. The list goes on.

There's so many holes in this argument, it's just meant to get you upset. Don't care. Let's talk about why there are no black kickers and punters?

Also, black people can only screw up once? How about Mike Vick? He seems to still be making millions, including a $100M contract after his incarceration, while the average man is left to work himself to the bone for peanuts.

I'm from Philly so this article really gets to me. This "expert" had a preconceived notion and then went around skewing numbers and considering certain factors until he could "prove" his point. This is not science nor intelligence, this is something done to get a reaction from people and manipulate feelings.

Like I said, I'm from Philly where we had Randall Cunningham, a few crappy white interim QBs (plus Rodney Peete), and then Donovan McNabb. Nobody ever got benched because they were black here, only because they stopped being productive. In other words, gtfo you social engineering hack economist writer. RG3 got benched because he sucked and couldn't stay on the field in the first place because he runs like a wounded animal and any NFL-calibre hit will put him out of the game.

This is a non-problem.

Cam Newton > your favorite QB.

*steps up to mic*

Ryan Fitzpatrick.

That is all.

He's gonna play who he thinks gives him the best chance to win even if he's wrong about it

With how quickly coaches get fired these days to think they're more worried about the race of the qb is amazingly ignorant. These dudes would play a Martian if it got them an extra contract

Same reason the Raiders moved on from JaMarcus Russell, same reason the Eagles never stayed with Vince. He was probably the best college QB of all-time but in the pros, he was just another Doug Flutie.

I guess you missed my point - if he goes 8-8 with the "unpopular" black QB and misses the playoffs he puts himself at more risk of losing his job then if he sticks with the more "likable" white QB and goes 6-10. The narratives will say that the black QB stifled their ability to make the playoffs or that the white QB "needs more time" or didn't have enough help. Since it's not just about wins and losses, he will probably choose option 2 and keep his job and that's exactly what these statistics convey.
