Pre-Colombian contact is not far fetched at all.
Nor is the idea that maybe a small number of phenotypically African people were here at some point.
The thing is, these nikka’s claiming it aren’t descended from that no way.
All of this shyt is rooted in anti-Africaness, anti-Blackness.
The Africa denial...even Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade denial.
The “indigenous” promotion as well as the Native American dikk riding.
I’ve said it before on here but I’ll say it again. This whole shyt started mainly from Biracial and Triracial African Americans way back in the day either looking to escape the racial discrimination of American society or jockeying for social and economic status within African American communities by claiming other.
These others went by Cherokee, Blackfoot, Choctaw, Melungeon, Black Irish, Lumbee, Black Dutch, Moor, etc etc. Some were free people of color, some were not.
Ask most AA’s who claim Native heritage and I guarantee the tribe will change 3-4 times depending on which relative is telling the history.
Ask most AA’s about an Native ancestor and I damn near guarantee that ancestor looks mulatto.
Ask most AA’s about an Native ancestor and often times you’ll hear how they were mixed with “Indian and Irish” for example. All vague shyt.
And btw, White folks in the south do that Native claim too to deny their African ancestor’s who passed. That “my grandma was a Cherokee princess” shyt.
