yeah, and?
Which means the people are largely more receptive to the Democratic party despite the fact that a victory depends on the Electoral College.

And since a victory depends on the Electoral College, it means that as long as Hillary Clinton stays the course and maintains the Democratic Party's hold on electoral votes, then there is a pretty good chance she will win The White House.

The last time a republican won the presidency by more than 2 points was in 1988. Romney lost despite winning the white vote by the same margin as Reagan in 1980 (the electorate was 90 percent white back then).
The GOP's southern strategy is dead at the presidential level, after 40 years of dominance:whew:

That's why I keep trying to tell cats...the GOP in it's current form is going to have a very hard time getting the presidency. They are alienating fukking everyone who is not a straight rich, white, male christian.

They're literally trying to swim while chained to a boat...you're gonna get a little far depending on the chain but eventually the ship you're attached to is gonna hold you back.

And that ship? The "SS fukk Coloreds, Queers, and Cunnys"? That shyt has sailed breh...that shyt is going in the other direction and the shore is to the left...

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
This is some Common "Extend a hand in love" bullshyt fam. What exactly would stop them from taking our vote and telling us to go fukk ourselves afterward? Supporting a black agenda would alienate their racist white voting block and they are NOT going to sacrifice their main base to please us. Support for the Civil Rights bill by democratic president Lyndon B Johnson (When the democrats were the racist party) is what switched the south from being largely democratic(dixiecrats) to republicans.Do you not see how flimsy this logic is? Bush had almost half of the Latino vote during his term but resentment and hostile policy towards Hispanics by the republicans only got worse.

You are showing serious willful ignorance here man.

No. It's called power and leverage. All u have to do is look at the tea party. The got nikkas elected. It's called power in numbers.

as an outsider who doesn't vote I just have one question.

Wouldn't it be better to get both parties to cater to your needs?

Republicans know black people won't vote for them so they don't even try to appeal/cater to their needs. If I know I don't got a chance of smashing a chick, no dinner, no movie, no dating, no nothing. On the flip side, democrats know they will always get the black vote so what incentive do hey have to cater to us??? nikkas need to wake up and smarten up. You sell yourselves short every election cycle and the days months and years in between.

Women, gays, Latinos got more leverage than we do :snoop:

Shouldn't republicans at least make an ATTEMPT at courting black voters? They are pretty blatant about not even trying or caring about black issues and Dems have owned the black vote in the high 90s percentages for about 40 years now. Republicans basically gave up regarding black voters and that's THEIR fault.

Using your own analogy, why would a chick even give a guy that KNOWS how to come correct but refuses to do so, a shot? If said guy constantly voices and displays his actions as him not caring and actively hindering the chick's progress and aspirations, why should you give his half hearted attempts of courtship any attention when he gives others the red carpet treatment?

Its not even just that they don't care about black issues. They have to actively push back against and hate blacks, gays, Muslims, etc in order for their base to go out and vote. Trying to get the black vote would be them throwing their base in the bushes.

The conservative movement(in America) has always been an ideological one... where as the liberal movement has always been a more tribal movement. Blacks fall easily into the liberal wheelhouse.

:mjlol: yeah, I guess if you're a black libertarian. For everyone else who isn't right wing it doesn't make any sense.
this isn't a right wing party :dahell:

gary johnson and ron paul were onto something read up on their ideas instead of just bashing on them:francis:

Although there is not an explicitly-labeled "left" or "right" designation of the party, many members, such as 2012 presidential nomineeGary Johnson, state that they are more socially liberal than the Democrats, but more fiscally conservative than the Republicans. The party has generally promoted a classical liberal platform, in contrast to the social liberal and progressive platform of the Democrats and the more conservative platform of the Republicans.Current policy positions include lowering taxes, allowing people to opt out of Social Security, abolishing welfare, ending the prohibition of illegal drugs, legalizing same-sex marriage, and supporting gun ownership rights.

yeah thats exactly what im saying, hillary will get less of the white vote, democrats have been and continue to lose an increasing amount of the white vote and have become more dependent on the minority vote, the only way hillary can win is by increasing her levels among minorities, but that source is tapped out already and thats why she will lose

and again, there is no enthusiasm for hillary in the black community, not that the coli represents all black people, but just the fact that a thread like this exists in the coli should terrify hillary supporters

This is dumb, black people didn't start voting majority Democrat just because of Obama.

The Dems will generally get about 90% of the black vote regardless of who runs, that's just how the demographics are. There's no indication that this will change just because Obama is leaving office. There wasn't exactly an outpour of enthusiasm about John Kerry but he still got about 90% of the black vote. Has nothing to do with any imaginary enthusiasm for Democrats, just antipathy towards Republicans.

Not to mention that Obama will endorse whoever the Dem candidate is and we have another year and a half left of Republicans insulting minorities and probably talking slick around the string of police shootings of unarmed black people. There's no reason to think black people will all of a sudden start a Republican revolution for no reason. Most likely the percentages will be similar to how they were last election but turnout will be a little lower.

That said, I really do wish both parties were a viable option. It's not good for black people politically nor is it healthy for the country as a whole to divide their vote so much along racial lines. But people are disinclined to vote for a party that's antagonistic to them. :manny:

If you vote republican you're voting against yourself and you're own people.... Which in turns make you a fukking moron. I can't even believe people would suggest voting for a party that only cares about rich white people.
