That's why conservatives have this fascination for the good ol' 1950s.
Those groups knew their place back then:wow:

I know that's what Rand wants to "take us back to". The good ol' Jim Crow days, separate but equal.

This is some Common "Extend a hand in love" bullshyt fam. What exactly would stop them from taking our vote and telling us to go fukk ourselves afterward? Supporting a black agenda would alienate their racist white voting block and they are NOT going to sacrifice their main base to please us. Support for the Civil Rights bill by democratic president Lyndon B Johnson (When the democrats were the racist party) is what switched the south from being largely democratic(dixiecrats) to republicans.Do you not see how flimsy this logic is? Bush had almost half of the Latino vote during his term but resentment and hostile policy towards Hispanics by the republicans only got worse.

You are showing serious willful ignorance here man.
:francis:

Hispanics are over here eating and no serious border stoppage has been attempted.....

black people are the swing vote, its just we dont portray ourselves as such

http://www.newrepublic.com/blog/ele...looked-question-2016-the-future-black-turnout

in the rand paul thread motherfukers were actually upset at me linking this article, they were outraged that somebody would suggest black people will determine the next election
I wasn't upset, I just said it wasn't accurate. The Hispanic vote will swing things simply because of the states they populate. The article makes a great point about Obama and Virginia - a southern state that is actually important. But what about the rest of the south, where republicans will win regardless of what black people do? Given the large amount of black people in those states, you can argue the black vote isn't as important as the Hispanic vote which is heavy in states that will decide the election.

I think black people should vote for the candidates that best address their issues. Likewise all people should do that. Right now the republican party has done absolutely nothing to warrant being voted for by black people, women, Hispanics, or young people. Which is why they got trounced in 2012 and 2008, and why they have only won the popular vote one time since 2000.

The democrat party is far from great. But last time I checked, they support more issues that benefit black people. Medicaid expansion, infrastructure spending, expanding access to community colleges, police and justice reforms, etc. Right now I'm glad to see republicans begin to support justice reforms as well, but outside of that what do they support that benefits black people? They don't even want black people to VOTE, brehs. Look at what they're doing in the south and other states, making it harder to vote and specifically targeting things black people do. Black people are less likely to have voter IDs, and local republicans have closed DMVs in inner cities and moved them into suburbs. Black people tend to work jobs that make it hard to vote on Tuesdays, so they like voting early on Sunday....republicans have ended Sunday voting in many states, or limited the hours.

Right now the republican party is fueled by white resentment and racism, that's just a fact. They hate Obama and more importantly hate black and brown people, which means they support legislation that hurts black and brown people. They've been running the same playbook for decades.

To native americans
To women

To all non-christians
To young voters

Basically to anyone who isn't rich, male, white, and old. And that's a sizable amount of this country, any way you slice it.

this is the thing, none of those groups are ride or die for the democratic party except for black people, everyone one of the those groups is liable to flip at any moment, except for black people

why is that?

imo, none of those groups are our friends anymore than rich white men are, its better to abide by the principle that we only have permanent interests, and we have no permament friends

imo also, that coalition is dead, i think the 2014 has shown that, so imo black people shouldnt put their eggs in one basket, nobody else is

That is absurd, and the numbers do not support your claim.

Also again with this "friends" shyt. The Republican Party does not and will not support black interests.

PERIOD.

You're in between beating a dead horse and saying nothing at all.

i think i already responded to all of this in the other thread and in the post ^^^^^

i dont agree with the rainbow coalition, i dont agree with defensive voting, our goal is to control and dominate and increase our economic and political power, i think we need to start making moves toward increasing our influence in the party of atwater, not runaway from it

the election of 2014 supports my claim, and the posts in this thread support my claim, black people are the only group that is ride or die for democrats
No it doesn't because mid-term elections historically have low voter turnout/political participation.

I believe it's been it's lowest since the 90's

Edit: Correction....since the 70's

But they've already shown they don't give a shyt about black people, why should you vote for them?

Hillary will do better with white people than Obama did, so she has room to lose some black support. But at the end of the day she'll still get more than 90% of the black vote.

Undying loyalty to the Democratic party has not brought about any meaningful advancement for blacks in America... Seriously entertaining our other options should definitely be on the table.

I'm all for entertaining options, just haven't seen any that are speaking to us.

Hilary also needs to MAINTAIN that white vote...people forget that Hillary Clinton is a very polarizing figure and has already been to this dance once before.
