I agree. I knew this at 15. I always knew being in shape would put me in a spot to control every aspect of my life. I went away from weights forawhile because I always had a damn near six pack just by being active really..then i did the boxing training, which is the best kind of training there is. I've varied stuff over the years. I just bought the ni ja blender to just make more natural fruit drinks and I'll grill or bake everything..I got a Frydaddy too. I know exactly how to stay in shape.

Brehs need cardio. I see plenty of us in the gym and out at the local parks. What I don't see is us doing anything beyond lifting weights and doing body weight exercises. Some will shoot hoops, but it's usually brehs that played high school/college ball. And once you get to age 30, 35 etc., it's not common to see a breh outside taking jog or doing more than 20 minutes of running on the treadmill.

Exactly. I used to be a health nut and after living "clean" for years I realized I am the most healthy when I have balance in my life. I work out a little, drink and smoke a little, fukk a lot, and remain productive. I exercise my spirit and mind too. I would like to see more minorities exercising their mental and spiritual muscles. No matter how many abs I had if my spirit wasn't aligned with my mind and emotions I felt like shyt. We act like we don't have feelings, and that's not healthy. A man has knowledge of self and that cannot be learned without emotional and spiritual exploration.

To only focus on physical form is nearsighted because the physical is the lowest vibration of one's identity. The spirit & emotions are our higher selfs, our true selfs, and the physical matters, but only because it's a part of a trilogy. And it's the final stage. Think about it brothers and sisters, it's deep. @CinnaSlim feels me.
Working out, smoking Cannibus, regular sex, and drinking plenty of water are my keys to maintaining good health and mental clarity.

About to get into boxing training myself. Is it possible to do boxing and weights/bulking? Not trying to derail the thread so you can PM the answer if you want.

I like boxing training to stay in shape...honestly I love moving my hands and I have snap like reflexes..so working a heavybag is very entertaining and fun. I love punching:laugh: but then I can shadow boxing, instantly drop down and do 20 push ups and like 30 crunches back to back after those last hard shots. Then flip to jumping jacks in seamless motion...you just keep moving and 30-40 minutes goes by quick..I swear it does. Lol.

I use free weights..like medium size ones for biceps, triceps, overheads, and squats. You eat right...you can do all this and you'll be alright. Weight training and cardio...you can feel your staimina increase. I be up late most nights and when I train early, I feel endless energy. When I don't, I might feel sluggish by like 3am sometimes when I just get 4 hours of sleep. So it all works, man. Just eat right...lol.

Nah its not expensive, people are just more interested in making excuses instead of trying to better themselves.
You can buy a bag of fish & a whole rotisserie chicken at Costco for a total of $12. Spend $8 on veggies & you can have a 5 day meal plan for $20. I know a few people that believe its expensive to eat healthy then turn around & pay $10 4 days in a row on dinner fast food meals. That's $40 that easily could've been spent on veggies, fruits & lean meats that would've lasted much longer & been more beneficial in the long run.

I used to eat fried foods and fast foods nearly everyday for years & got horribly out of shape & used to it. You can't just "diet" you have to learn to make eating clean a lifestyle or else you'll be right back where you started. Now I love fish, chicken, fruits, water & salads. When I do get fast food I will only order something chicken that is lettuce wrapped. Haven't had consecutive sodas in over 5 years but I also don't punish myself over a drink or unhealthy meal anymore because my system will get rid of it quick due to a much better metabolism & cleaner digestive system than before. I used to feel sluggish after meals but now have energy.

I also care less about calories because if its clean its all useful anyway. I used to bring HUGE chicken salads around some friends & they had jokes saying I might as well have eaten a burger but not realizing 500 calories of chicken & veggies is a lot better than 500 calories of a greasy saturated fat filled cheeseburger.

I went from 230 to 165 & even accidentally dropped to 140 before getting back up to 165-170 & I've kept that weight & excess body fat off for the last 5 years because of a LIFESTYLE change as opposed to dieting if that makes sense.

Above the fray.
Facts

I've had this discussion at least once a week with my friends for the last 5 years. If anybody thinks that the current wave of demasculinity, especially amongst black men is by product of the foot on the necks of just about errbody by 21st century feminists is wrong. We are being erased out of the equasion for over 3 decades now. When i was a young kid every block had a martial arts guy ,every building a boxer of some sorts. Masculinity for that part was our tradition of being able to defend ourselves against racists or anybody that took us for a joke, pride and being proud of being a black man being the keywords here and i know this first hand from my elders. My fathers generation and those before had their own faults but not being masculine black men was not acceptable .I work with kids aged 16-23 and i get sad when i hear these boys version of what a man is supposed to be to himself, family and his community. They have no role models anymore so rappers, athletes and just about anybody with a couple of dollars will do.They are playing chess, not checkers with us. Remove religion first, then culture. After that the family bond and if the men still put up a fight, make the women lose respect for the men so that their sons grow up with a disdain for the men and are used to following women and their behaviour before they will follow a man cause thats how they are programmed from birth. The daughters will have a lopsided idea of what a man is because you grew up with the dissapointment of the mother and her advice to not trust any man.

no hand skills for 2 generations now is due to easy access to guns...... nobody gets their ass kicked anymore without coming back shooting up the block...

no roles models is due to Black men abandoning their families in great numbers for the last 2 generations....

I recently got destroyed during a race with my 42 year old uncle. I’m in my early 20s
:mjcry:

I don’t care what women think but I need to do better to defend myself and look better just for own happiness. As a young black man, I should be at peak health
