Of course. Growing up I watched my father run his own painting business. He would go and get workers from the hood. Sometimes they were shytty, and people would tell him, why don't u go hire some Mexicans. He never did and for good reason. They would NEVER go out of their way to share jobs with him. Our workers were no better or worse than the Mexicans in the area and he kept the business in the community.
Don't get me wrong. I don't hate on Latino or other immigrants. In fact I have a lot of respect for many of their cultural values and work ethic. But just like they are insular in their business dynamics, our community should do the same.
I remember making a post about blk producers giving non-blk artists a chance in the music industry. Yo blk c00nin azz will overlook all this damn talent in a group of people who look like what you see in the mirror everyday, but you go on to rep the Iggys, Lady Gagas, and Justin Beibers of the world and they end up making more than you?
But yeah ur right. All too often we succumb to the pervasive idea that you have to cater to non-blks, include them, or court them to gain success in the world. Shyt is embarrassing!
