Don't be applauding this shyt, I don't want this to become to kind of trend :birdman:

neither do I, I'd much rather see Afros on actual Africans as opposed to seeing my sisters wearing foreign hair and demonstrating to young impressionable girls that something is so wrong with our hair that we have to spend $200 a bag plus installation fees to hide our real hair.

This is a lie though, I've never put chemicals in my hair and I've always gotten compliments from black women, it's the men who have always had an issue with my hair being "nappy". Black women admire it, they don't know how to care for it.

The discussion of straightened hair is so beyond hate it's now ignorance. Have natural hair courses in beauty schools in areas outside of Detroit, Chicago and Atlanta.

If the knowledge is available and easily accessible and women know how to care for their hair and still don't then maybe self hate could be an attribute
It aint a lie.

I have black sisters and cousins who tell me stories about women who talk shyt about their nappy hair. Sayng shyt like "thank god im not natural" and making fun of women with short hair.

You gonna deny racism exists next? :pachaha:

I'm natural and I hear other natural women make fun of women with relaxed hair and they make fun of women with short hair.

What's the consensus then?

The consensus is black chicks making fun of chicks with nappy hair, black males as well and white males and females look down on chicks with nappy hair.

Its oppresion and it is wrong.

Your denial of what is actually happening to others isnt helping at all.

in your opinion based on your observations, do you think there are more Black women wearing their hair natural than there are Black women wearing their hair permed and or weaved in America?

Obviously that's undeniable, but I've gotten more compliments from black women and more insults from black men and people of other races.

Y'all nikkas can argue all day about self hate but when real issues are presented it's all about what "my sister said" fukk outta here. Any natural woman that denies the hate from men is a liar.

I tried to tell them there are black men that don't like the natural hair but apparently my hearing is off....

They have so much to say on a subject they could never understand. If you have no first hand knowledge your arguments are stale to me. These dudes are so ignorant.

No I see a lot of diversity.

I see both especially when I was in college. I went to a HBCU. What I commonly saw even then was the same women who would rock the fake straight pony tails, would rock their natural hair for about a month later, then put a weave in, flip flop back and forth...Some would have naturally long hair, chop it off and rock a short haircut and then within 2 months rock a weave, or braids, then take that out and rock a mohawk or shave one side and have it longer on the other side...then you'd have the lazy phase during finals where they'd wear scarves on their head and have it in a natural pony tail. Next few weeks, it would be done up.

Its actually intriguing to see how black women can go through so many diverse hairstyles.

I'm not putting words in anyone's mouth, but you're constantly going at women for disliking kinky hair when it's both sexes. And it's not racism for a black person to make fun of their own hair texture.

Like I said in my previous post, you wanna talk about self hate, racism and all that bullshyt. Make the methods more accessible to be taught, not just in major black areas, everywhere. Like I've said, it's more ignorance than hate. I stand by that.

You didn't use the word oppression when you replied to me and you went on to tell me about some shyt your sisters told you about black women and omitted the men.

:lupe:

How to care for the hair period. When women with curly/kinky hair go into the average salon the hairdressers will tell you that they don't know how to care for that hair type. In beauty school any method taught for kinky hair is damaging. Teach women how to become professionals in caring for black women's hair, teach how to properly detangle, dry, comb, moisturize and ect.

These are things women don't know from generations of chemical processing, when these things are common knowledge again I'll be more probe I agree with a self hate issue.
