True '12 has better perimeter and individual defenders and '92 has better post and team defenders..

You ask who's gonna keep Westbrook out of the paint?

I ask who's gonna keep Robinson and Barkely off of the block?

'92 is a better rebounding team (especially at the guard positions)

'92 is a better passing team

'92 moved better without the ball

'92 had to walk 10 miles in the snow to get to practice everyday

get mad

The two things I bolded are completely not true.

Yes it is when you say

It clearly is when they're facing BETTER COMPETITION than the 92 team.

LOL at "it's what yall hang on to to make a point for the current team" as if you said something to take away from that point.

:takedat:

dude you dont even make sense, is the '12 team playing the teams the dream team had to face in this hypothetical argument? the point of the point differential is that if the '12 team is squeaking those type of wins vs spain and argentina what do you think will be the point differential vs the damn dream team? the only way it becomes about the competition the dream team faced, is if i bring up the point differentials the dream team had on they competition. its really not that hard to follow. yall just so stuck in your same points you cant keep up.

the only way the point differential argument is non and void is if you tell me that spain and argentina are just as good as a team as the dream team. and yall cant be that silly.

Spain and Argentina are better than any team the Dream Team ever played against, also both of those teams have been together for a decade.

So, Pippen and Jordan are supposed to guard everyone? You have to pick and choose, who do you put them on, cause Drexler, Mullins and Bird damn sure aren't going to stop Melo or Durant from scoring, considering both of those guys were almost always on the floor with Kobe/LeBron.

Basically....

12' Spain would have blown out every team the 92' Dream team faced by 30.

the argument is spain, argentina vs the damn dream team. and as i stated, the dream team is 5x the team spain and argentina is.

so in comparison, if you saw games where the '12 team struggled offensively against those teams, what the hell you think go happen if they struggle in the least bit vs the dream team, and prime, hungry mj on the other side deciding to take they hearts out cause of the hype you giving them? are yall serious here?

Came in to post this and its all that needs to be said.

No international team this year is on the same talent level as the 92 dream team and yet the '12 team had some close games against them. How the fukk do yall really think they are going to beat the 92 team?

dude spain and argentina compared to who the dream team faced is not the argument. its what yall hang on to to make a point for the current team.

the '12 team and playing against who the dream team went against, they playing the damn dream team, so the argument is spain, argentina vs the damn dream team. and as i stated, the dream team is 5x the team spain and argentina is.

so in comparison, if you saw games where the '12 team struggled offensively against those teams, what the hell you think go happen if they struggle in the least bit vs the dream team, and prime, hungry mj on the other side deciding to take they hearts out cause of the hype you giving them? are yall serious here?

then once again, nobody has countered my turnover to transition argument, who is the '12 team forcing turnovers on? and lastly in a close game who closing out a game better than prime jordan?

the best argument, and for better words hope you have is that the '12 team will get extremely hot from 3 and how confident can you be that they would get that hot vs the dream team?

so for my safe bet, im more confident that malone, barkley, ewing and robinson could chop the '12 team front line up, more confident that magic, stockton jordan and pippen wouldnt allow turnovers to occur at a high rate, and more confidence that mj would close the deal out in a close game, than i have confidence that melo, durant or kobe would get extremely hot from 3 vs the dream team and break the game open with that 3 flurry.

Quick question, why do you keep mentioning Argentina? In Olympic play they beat Argentina by an average of 28ppg, they got rolled in the end, so how about you drop them from your argument.

Oh, because you stated it that makes it so, the Dream Team was quantified, weighed and measured out to be precisely 5x better than Spain and Argentina, I guess that means they'd score 500pts against the 2012 team.

So apparently MJ and Pippen have been cloned and would be guarding everyone, that makes sense. I like how you skirt around questions like who is guarding Durant or Melo?

And another point to prove. 12' never loss. 92' lost to college kids more faster and athletic. Peep Bird's comment after that scrimmage loss. Too much speed and athletism. And thats exactly 12' has over 92'. But not only do they have that. 12' has just as much exp. but it is wat it is. :yeshrug:

your argument is null and void because you keep saying they have more but cant even name me 2. im not talking about westbrook, iggy etc guarding calderon lol im talking them guarding the hall of famers.

Yeah, you're not at all interested in being objective, might as well just post "nanananana I can't hear you". So who is Mullin and Bird guarding, how about you name anyone other than MJ and Pippen that were even average perimeter defenders

now re read what you posted because you said the '12 team had better perimeter defenders. okay, name those perimeter defenders that are so much better than the dream team? hell i can look like a great defender guarding scrubs. so regularly in the nba season, we know damn well nobody but lebron is stopping anybody. iggy is a decent defender but he not stopping nobody on the dream team.

 So now Iggy has been downgraded to "decent" defender.

:wtf:

As far as passing goes

Jordan>Kobe

Malone>Davis

Magic>CP3

Pippen>Durant

Mullin>Melo

Robinson>Chandler lol

Stockton>Westbrook

Bird>Iggy

And '12 achillies heel besides size was their habit of playing iso and standing around.. Their half court offense didn't have the fluency that '92 did.. A lot of their 3's came in transition.. The majority of their easy baskets were in transition off of turnovers..Their movement was horrible at times...I said from day one they were playing just like the '10-11 Miami Heat...

I am completely making sense. Holding it against the 2012 team for playing in close games COMPARED to the 92 team is garbage in light of the competition the US teams face today is ten times greater than in the past.

Bringing up the point differential is a moot point when the FACTS are that the Spanish team ALONE had more NBA players than the ENTIRE FIELD the 92 team faced in the Olympics.

The 2012 team holds the Olympic record for assists. I don't know what games you were watching to say this was an ISO heavy team unless it was Kobe killing ball movement. :scheme:

It's amazing how certain things are held against the 12 team that don't apply to the 92 team. So, in one post you're saying the 12 team won't get open looks from 3's because the Dream Team isn't Nigeria, yet here you are talking about how fluid the 92 team's offense was against even worse teams than Nigeria :mindblown:

Exactly.

The point differential of the 2012 US team getting by Argentina and Spain should be used against them, but it's a moot point to use the quality of opponent the 92 Dream team faced compared to the 2012 team.

Niqqas in here are ass backwards.

No, the Dream Team was not capable of "blackout" shooting nights like the current team, they did not shoot the 3 like the 2012 team, they made 54 threes for the entirety of the Olympics.

The 3 is the biggest equalizer in basketball, and the current team can get hot from 3 like no other team I have ever seen. They hold scoring records for Olympic basketball, not the Dream Team.

They were absolutely capable of blacking out. 12 is better at shooting the three, but so the fukk what? You're hanging your whole argument on some fluke shyt.

They could black out, but clearly not to the level of the 2012 team, they didn't score more against worse competition :shaq2:

It's a fluke yet they topped 20 threes after that game, and flirted with hitting 20 2 more times.
