Ewing came into league in 84 baby boy, Kareem was very much playing a few years after that. Maybe not a prime Kareem, but still Kareem. You really think Gasol is giving Ewing and Robinson trouble? Gasol isn't better than a Robinson from 20 years ago, ir a Ewing from 30 years ago in college. Common sense

damn people stay underrating gasol... i cant stand him, but he can ball.

Could Oscar Robinson and Wilt Chamberlin and Lou Alcindor and Bill Russell beat the '92 Dream Team? Those 60's-70's dudes had the most dominant big men of alltime and arguably the greatest all-around player of all time....????

Common sense, brehs.

For now, the 2012 squad is the greatest ever assembled.

I bet the nikkas in here acting like Pau is so dominating were the same ones calling him a soft Euro and the reason for Lakers failing 4 months ago. But now that he feasted on the young people heroes it's, "he a beast though, he would do the same to hall of famers"

probably could say the same thing for ewing and all his failings in the playoffs, as well as robinson until duncan came along and saved him.

Has anybody on the Dream Team come close to scoring 100pts in a game?

Won 9 titles?

Averaged a triple-double for an entire season?

Chamberlain, Russell, & Oscar would fukk '92 up!

Theyd have a much greater chance than the 2012 team, throw Kareem and West in there and I wouldn't be surprised if they did. That's a beast squad. Also shows why your statement about players being better now than 20 years ago was stupid

2012 is an incomplete team.. It has gaping holes at key positions..It's the manifestation of the AAU/1 and done era and the end result is them coming some Marc Gasol foul trouble from being the goats of the entire sports world...Thats the part of this "debate" that is so hilarious to me.. Them n!ggas almost took an L on Sunday..They gave up 60 points in 20 minutes and for some reason that his put back batteries into this being some type of legit discussion..

To answer your question.. A team with Wilt, Russell and Kareem in their prime would beat a team full of guards and swingmen from any era....

(unless they make 26 threes)..

Whenever have you seen an one dimensional team beat a team that well balanced as the 92 team.. :wtf:

Dudes are actually buying into the Coach K philosophy

1-No post game

2-No half court defense

3-Sign a bunch of McDonalds All Americans and give them the green light to chuck threes

There's a reason why this dude doesn't coach in the NBA and thats the same reason Chuck Daly and the '92 squad would eat his food...

I don't get the mocking of the 2012 team making as many three point shots as they did.

It's cool to accept Croatia hitting 9-17 threes facing the godly defense of "MIchael and Scottie being everywhere" 92 team, but out of the question that the 2012 team could more than double that production.

Sure it could happen... But that's a messed up game plan to depend on..But if you're giving up 60 points in a half and allowing the Gasol brothers to do Mikan drills in the post then you really have no choice...

This is how I imagine the pre game talk going before this match-up...

Coach K- "Fellas, go out there and hit 20 threes, and we got his thing"

Coach Daly-"Fellas, play your game"

This is the difference between a complete team and an incomplete team...Who would you feel more confident in placing your money on?

They only led by 14 in the first half...

And the Croatian "Big Three" of Drazen Petrovic, Toni Kukoc, and Dino Radja scored 63 points on 23 of 43 shooting against the all everywhere defense of Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen.

No WAY Melo, Durant and Lebron can outpace that Croatian production.

You're grasping at straws. That game was never in doubt, drawing conclusions from how those chips fell is just silly.

Hold up.

They were up 14 at the half facing the Croatian "Big Three"

I remember being a bit worried that they were only up one after the first quarter and 14 at half time. It wasn't the blowouts like the games piror for the 92 team.

I remember.

Now I want to you answer this.

Measure up the Croatian "Big Three" against Melo, Durant and Lebron and tell me how that score would be more than a 14 point lead.

Grasping at straws my ass. Petro :to: , Dino and Toni shot over 60% against the Dream team, and I'm the one grasping at straws thinking that Melo, Durant and Lebron can't do better?

:rudy:

Toni Kukoc can dish 9 assists on 3 turnovers agaisnt the US team in the gold medal game. Tell me Lebron can't do better than that.

:yeshrug:

That 14 point lead at half time against the Croatian "Big Three" would probably be three points at the most against the "2012 Big Three."
