Your acting like its mandatory for people to work at Mcdonalds. If you don't want to work a minimum wage job, don't work work a minimum wage job. Any person in poverty with a GED can go to a community college for FREE. School not your thing? Government offers training to learn a new trade. Cant learn a trade? Guess what your a loser probably doomed for failure who can't be helped. Hate to sound harsh but that's real talk that some people need to hear. Stop complaining, learn to work, be humble, save whatever little money you can.
I'm from the bottom, was raised in projects, saw what was going on and maneuvered out of that shyt. I didnt have parents pushing me to go to school, work ect i made those choices myself. Remember in school I was broke as shyt making like $80 a week on that student work program shyt,while other kids had brand new whips from their parents. I have no sympathy for the weak...You keep making excuses i'll keep making moves.

Now tell me what bills you had where you could survive off $80 a week? You wasnt paying rent thats for sure.

Lets say one of these Mcdonalds workers takes your advise to better themselves and go back to skool. How are they gonna survive in the meantime? Are they suppose to be homeless working at mcdonalds and going to skool at the same time?

How is paying these people more than $8/hr (on average) and thus getting them off food stamps and welfare and whatever other government programs the tax payers pay for, a bad thing? If these people made on average $12/hr, it would end up being a big difference for them, and really that's going to reduce these government programs that you types are so against, that we as the tax payers pay for. Oh yeah, and they have a more livable wage.

I'm not against raising the minimum wage. Dead end jobs are not careers. Raising minimum wage won't solve everything, you could pay some people $20 an hour and they would be in the same position, some people don't understand how to manage money.

I don't think there's any solution that can solve everything. However, the fact remains if these people are paid more we can greatly reduce the need for public assistance in the form of food stamps, welfare and whatever else. This will in turn benefit tax payers. Of course there will be people who still fukk their money up, even millionaires fukk their money up, but the majority will still benefit.

i dont think flipping burgers is meant to be a good career choice either, but the economy is not creating middle class jobs anymore. people who never thought they would end up in fast food are now finding themselves choosing between working fast food or selling weed. this includes older americans with lots of experience doing something else and recent college graduates who cant find anything requiring their degree

"Make good life choices" they say, without taking in supplementary information of those workers and their environment. That's one of the problems with capitalism, everything can be explained by "do it better" without taking into account that either:

A) Most Businesses would not survive if everyone was above working at some place

OR

B) Skilled workers would become overly-saturated and thus you would have skilled workers who made good life choices working at McDonalds (i.e., back to step one).


Thus, a system such as this neo-capitalism that we have today depends on there being a criminal class, poverty, wealth disparity, lack of education, lack of birth control, and so on. If ALL people made better lifestyle choices, the criteria for the lower classes would just re-adjust. Therefore, instead of you being a High School drop out to work at place X, now you have to have a Bachelor's degree to flip burgers. Then the capitalist would be in here saying "Well fukking bootstraps, bootstraps, better decisions, bootstraps, trickledown c*nt, bootstraps" nonsense and telling everyone to get PhDs.
