Yeah, there are a lot of people/industries/companies (basically our entire electrical power grid) who'd hate to see this thing launch because the new tech is exponentially better and cheaper.

Of course, not financial advice, but implications are something like this:


As mentioned, more research will be conducted to find if there are other materials besides lead that hold similar properties to this discovery.

So before everyone goes off to buy lead-based stocks or whatever, know that we've only broken a big chunk of the ice here: we've discovered the physics and the properties. Now the exploration (are there other compounds) then fine-tuning (how can we synthesis it reliably), then engineering (start making stuff with it) stages are what you want to watch out for because from that point will the new tech start popping up.
