Ehh at least her music has more rapping than Lauryn Hill's, she's the one who bugs me out everytime she's inserted into rap conversations. I'm cool with Miseducation getting accolades, just not as a rap album.

I'm not even a Nicki stan, but it's an insult to have Missy Elliot on a rap album list over Nicki . Those beats that sound like they were made with miscellaneous items found in the trunk of a clown car really got y'all that impressed with Missy:martin:

It put eyes on her that don't matter at all in the hip-hop realm:mjlol:

So put her wack ass on a pop list:camby:

This list is garbage as I expected it would be.

1.Jay-Z-Blueprint
2.Young Jeezy-TM101
3.Lil Wayne-Carter 2
4. Plies-Real Testament
5. Kanye West-College Drop Out
6. T.I-Trap Muzik
7. Kendrick Lamar-D.A.M.N
8.Stankonia
9.Beanie Sigel-B Coming
10.Kendrick-G.K.M.C

Signed-the streets:wow:.

I also have a gripe with mixtapes not being included in the 21st century. Like stop it,mixtapes are made as albums now. Doesn't feel right not having Future on this list for me. I think he could crack the top 10 potentially. I should at least be forced to consider.

This isn't a Hip Hop list. It basically is a Pop list. The albums listed in the OP are the ones that are Hip Hop and yes, Under Construction is a Hip Hop album.

Under Construction is not even Missy's best album and is still better than most of Nicki Minaj's catalog. Nicki Minaj raps better, but the music is overall lackluster. Its like comparing Eminem to Kanye West. Eminem is a far better rapper, but Kanye made better music.

It is, but I wouldn't expect to see it on a list like this. Album was critically acclaimed and went platinum, but it didn't have the moments that a Blueprint or a Black Album had.
Yeah I get what you’re saying but they are several albums that had no “moments” on this list that AG was much bigger than.

Like Noname’s Telefone is here :russ:

It says 250 best albums, but obviously they need a disclaimer when it comes to hip-hop. This list makes sense as "the top 10 according to people who don't listen to rap like that". So these are just rap albums that happened to catch the attention of non hip-hop listeners. In that case Missy is perfectly acceptable, they don't know any better:mjlol:

True.

I could be wrong, but I don't see Trap Muzik or TM101 on the list. Not the Top 10 list, but I don't see them listed at all. Those are glaring ommissions.

Honestly, Yeezus shouldn't even be on the list. It was the worst Kanye West album at that point and MBDTF is infinitely better than that album. Good Friday songs that didn't even make MBDTF are better than that album.

Highly disagree. Especially regarding impact too. MBDTF is an overproduced mess that you don't hear anymore or has even really been replicated. The best songs on the album are the "under produced" ones like devil in the red dress, runaway, etc.

nobody is copying all of the lights. but the yeezus influence in modern rap is very evident, especially with the younger audience which makes sense if Travis Scott supposedly wrote and produced most of it.

Why he's able to do insane tour numbers. MBDTF is a great album but its influence is very limited IMHO esp compared to Yeezus or 808s or even Graduation

MBDTF had far more of an impact and influence than Yeezus. Watch The Throne does not exist without it. That was really the album that inspired Travis Scott and a lot of the new artists of 2010's.

WTT came for an entirely different. You can watch the numerous Kanye interviews on why he felt like they was a necessity. And it wasn't because of MBDTF.
