The biggest question I have about the music business in general is how does all these ppl have millions of followers and can only get 15-20K in streams? Does streams count towards listening to the full album or most of it? I honestly don’t know how it works so I never understood how ppl can post their album, get x amount of likes and comments then their #s don’t look even a quarter of that

And I’m someone that doesn’t judge ppl based off their sales but i am curious
I asked Parks from Joe budden. If I download the album offline and listen a billion times how do you get your streams?
He had no answer. Its crazy artists dont even know how it is

If you download it from an illegal site I think it depends. This is regarding Apple Music and iPhones. If the metadata isn't correct and/or you don't have Apple Music, it definitely doesn't count. If you download it from an illegal site and the metadata is correct and you have Apple Music, then it may count towards it. If you have Apple Music and download the album for offline listening from Apple, then it counts. Apple Music keeps track of how many times you listen to an album.

Then my last point would be the case. On Apple Music, once you make the album or songs available for offline listening there's a counter associated with the song. It reports back to Apple Music how many times you listen to the song. That's how they count the listens.

Not good numbers, but dammit if these rappers aren't doing even mediocre numbers now. Yeat did 70K first week and that still would count him at the 10th highest first week of any rapper this year. Yeat!

now if you were kinda hot at one point, now you do 30-45K. This is low even for that bar. Sean didn't really have a hit to go with this.

:camby:Sean could do a show right now and it will do #'s

Folks didn't know he was dropping
This is another thing I don't understand and the topic can be expanded to be even broader than Sean. How do ppl not know the person they're following on IG is dropping an album or music in general and the post is literally the music, album cover or tracklist?

If the music video off the project does #s then somewhere a long the line, ppl knew there was music dropping. How they calculate #s is what's confusing

aside from the fact that ppl ain't checkin for him these days like that, it just puzzles me how there's no real answer.

The Ross/Meek and 2 Chainz/Wayne collab albums did around the same range as Sean so, its hard to even say what's an L these days cuz maybe only 6 rappers can get sales

I mean the answer is just as simple as social media following doesn't equal sales. Female rappers have big followings and can't sell for shyt. Just because they follow you don't mean they gonna go out of their way to check for your new shyt all the time.

Does he automatically sound like he's chopped and screwed too? I'm not about to check for that shyt.
Lmaooo nah, cause if he did, I would actually listen to him. He has one of those high whiny voices and sometimes uses that Travis Scott voice distortion stuff.
