It is possible to vote strongly enough to have majorities where it matters but the votes just aren't there. The voters literally did choose them. The party propped them, but we know how that "We need someone more moderate" attitude seeped into the consciousness when Bernie and the Squad were discussed, and neither of them are really even far left.the voters chose both of them.
