I've asked myself the same question lol.
I think it's just a lesser card in comparison to the standard Amex Plat. Because all you're accumulating are SkyMiles and status in comparison to membership points which are way more flexible.

I’m thinking it makes way more sense to just switch over to the Amex Plat. I can’t use my skymiles as many places as I can use my membership points. And membership points can turn into skymiles right?
Yep. It incentivizes purchasing travel (5x points on flights/hotels) but you can redeem those points for anything. I think this is the last yr I'll keep my Delta Plat

I have the American Express Gold in the chase sapphire reserve. The AMEX gold honestly isn’t worth it. The thing about Chase is the points can’t convert for more value. If you’re traveling the MX gold points you get a one point equals one cent conversion so you go to a restaurant and you get 4% back.

yup I'm struggling to earn points now, it was easy when I had to spend 3k in the first 3 months to get that 60k bonus
now im at 68,000 points and its not moving

So I have a new job where I'm going to be traveling once a week. Company pays for the flights but I book my own hotel and car rental to which I'll be reimbursed fully. I'll also be reimbursed for food.
