I got the Gold card and I put about 5k a month on it. I think I have about 120k in points in reserve. Looking to use it up in a Euro trip next year.

Here's a tip, if you have a Corporate card from work you can get a $100 yearly credit on your personal Amex card. Thank me later

sometimes you could get a better deal just getting that plat
but yeah then you would have two annual fees instead of just one if you upgrade
they do soft pulls once you have the card

i got the SkyMiles Plat earlier this year. it's paid for a few trips and been good but Delta been on my shyt list with their WOAT customer service

If you tell them you want to get rid of the card, they will ask you why. Tell them the fee us too high and they will waive it. I've done it successfully for the last 4 years

You talking regular Venture, or Venture X?

I've got a standard Venture, and it's.......ok.

Double points on all purchases is pretty good, but if I remember correctly, the 5x points for travel is just for hotels and rental cars as of now.

The lower annual fee of $95 on the standard is pretty reasonable, but for a bit more, you can get better rewards, at least in my opinion, from an AmEx Gold, and the benefits you get for booking travel through AmEx tend to be a bit better, along with member perks that AmEx offers.

i think venture x is more worth it, you can back get 75% of the first year's af and 100% of all subsequent years with zero effort

travel cashback is 10% now and you get it even when redeeming the annual credit

so as long as you don't mind booking thru cap one's ota instead of directly i see no downsides...

edit: cap one's all about subprime/predatory lending so make sure to tell em on the app that you're interested in cash advances and other dumb shyt

Waiting until they build a competing lounge at IAH before I commit. Will be nice to have a choice of luxury lounges at our home airport.

i need to take advantage of this. Been looking for a good credit card to book flights. what Kinda perks do you take advantage of with it? That first class caught my eye already lol
