Gives a new definition to staycation for me. I used to be anti elite status and just took the best deal available on hotels.com but seeing that booking direct for +\- 5% difference in cost through the Amex portal brings benefits I couldn’t have dreamed of through Hilton and Marriot Gold statuses.

most times you don't actually have to go or even set foot in the state if you check in online, i'm guessing cause of covid, idk

the hyatt program is pretty coveted and they cut their requirements in half last year so it made goofy shyt like this more worth

Yes, they also include evacuation insurance which I looked into if we had got stranded in Mexico or Belize last week. Platinum coverage is best, I cant speak on gold because I don’t book travel with that card.

I’m just wondering cuz I didn’t book the hotel through Amex. Just paid with the card and I don’t want to test hot out there and then I’m paying out of pocket to be quarantined. Will be the first time I travel to the Caribbean’s since Covid. Trying to get all my basis covered. Even trying to get some self tests to show my 24 proof before I fly out. I got a month or so still to do all this though.

I had the green card for 9 plus years. I been with Chase 16 years and I also have a couple other long history cards.

I now have the gold card and I could get the plat but I won’t use the benefits. Maybe in the future. Chase has been begging me to get the CSR. started my credit at 18 years old. Interest rates don’t matter just pay your cards off monthly. If you carry a balance make sure it’s an emergency situation and pay it off within 12 months. If you have multiple cards only carry a balance on one the rest pay off monthly. Keep utilization at 5% or less.

How was your experience? Did you get in?

I Haven’t been early enough to catch a spot here, so the only thing I can recommend is to get there EARLY because it fills quick. Use the Amex entrance, it’s clutch.

We used the Binaxnow tests which came 6 got $150 and tested at midnight the day of our flight. Worth the money, they have a backlog so spend now and get the tests in your hands, fly there with them and then you won’t be scrambling trying to find a test in a foreign country a day before you fly back.

Because I run a high balance each month then pay it off Amex has boosted my overall score about 20 points since it looks like I’m paying off huge debts each month.
