When was this?

After Snoop,Deathrow being the dynasty it was it was only natural:sas1:

Kurupt showed his ass on every deathrow classic, showed his ass on hella features, showed his ass on Dogg Food which went like 4 times platinum btw....everybody knew how sick he was, respected by both coast like Snoop:blessed: he was supossed to be up next after Snoop until Pac came and crushed the buildings,Kurupt was definitley the most anticipated of his time....that Dre produced Kurupt album was all we wanted:mjcry:

Now show me where Prodigy was EVER the most anticipated emcee at any point outside of the tri state, outside of mobb deep stans:mjlol:

Kurupt had a point where he was the most anticipated in the game,he was up next after Snoop....Prodigy?nah.

Did Prodigy kill 1000 emcees or just get killed by 1000 emcees:mjlol:

Kurupt can do it all,the versatility:banderas:

Even though I'm a Kurupt Stan, can't consign this, most anticipated right after Snoop?:snoop:

HNIC is my favorite rap album from a solo artist.:yeshrug:
0331c02f1eeb17c6f281649f7c605c9e.png
from 95-2000 era all day over any rapper:wow:

Not u unusual for a new yorker to think that:manny:

Doesnt change what the nation knew about Kurupt.

Dogg pound kicked over the buildings blaytantly with pure hatred on Snoops face, and Mobb deep goes and does a LA tribute song:pachaha:

Prodigy didnt want smoke with prime Kurupt:banderas:

If your argument is he was the most anticipated from Death Row after Doggystyle, then sure I agree with that.
:patrice:
So if I'm understanding this right...Kurupt was the most anticipated rapper in the game after Dogg Food dropped? But then Pac came through and crushed the buildings () with AEOM?
So we're talking about a 3 month window?
That's not how I remember it at all :dwillhuh:
The Dogg Pound album was definitely anticipated and people knew Kurupt was a problem...but he was never even close to being the most anticipated rapper in the entire game ever. :comeon:
And Dogg Food is only double platinum :mjcry:
Not that sales matter :hubie:
And you're lucky I feel that way or I'd bring up the fact that Kurupt's double album didn't even sell 250,000 :hubie:
But you'd admit that album was a huge disappointment and made no waves in 98 right?

Pac wasnt anticipated from an emcee standpoint though which is what im talking about:ufdup:

And we not talking about 98 when west coast blackballing was in full effect:sas1:,but yes i will agree with that.

im pretty sure Dogg Food is closer to 3 million then 2,it hit 1.5 early on....its well over 2 million by now.

wanna talk about what that Dre produced Firm Album didnt do,before we start talkin about Kurupts failures:sas2:.

And Nas already came out and was dikkrode into oblivion,Kurupt hadnt come out as a solo act yet,if we going by that,Snoop was more anticipated then both them nikkas

I don't know about blackballing...Death Row and basically the whole Coast just died with Pac.

It was certified 2 million in January of 96. I wouldn't be surprised if it was closer to 3. Who knows?

What does the Firm album have to do with anything?

Snoop was definitely more anticipated. East West North South :heh:
And yes he wouldve outsold Nas too.
Who knows. With Death Row...anything was possible.

:wow:
Mine is Illmatic :ahh:
HNIC is a personal classic for me for sure. :banderas:

Illmatic is one of the top albums on my list as well, but I prefer HNIC over it.
I've cut out some tracks/skits (doesn't mean they are bad) and made it a perfect album. This version can go head to head with any album :wow: + don't forget that quiet storm was gonna be on this album but P gave it to Murda muzik.

Prodigy - Genesis
Prodigy - Rock Dat shyt
Prodigy - What U Rep (Feat. N.O.R.E.)
Prodigy - Keep It Thoro
Prodigy - Can't Complain (Feat. Twin Gambino & Chinky)
Prodigy - Infamous Minded (Feat. Big Noyd)
Prodigy - Three (Feat. Cormega)
Prodigy - Delt With The Bullshyt (Feat. Havoc)
Prodigy - H.N.I.C
Prodigy - Veteran's Memorial
Prodigy - Do It (Feat. Mike Delorean)
Prodigy - Y.B.E. (Feat. B.G.)
Prodigy - Diamond (Feat. Bars & Hooks)
Prodigy - You Can Never Feel My Pain

I think you should revisit that video and (especially) tragedy's verse :whew:

I only bought up Pac to say he fukked up Kurupts momentum with his star power....but before that Kurupt was supposed to be next....prodigy was never thought to be next nationally.....kurupts skill was acknowledged by all,and he was anticipated as such:sas1:

You bought up Kurupts flop in 98,thought i should bring up Nas flopping with a Dre assist around the same time, something thats hard to do....plus the fact Kurupt as the primary emcee carried his group to a classic album and Nas didnt.

Maybe Dre put his energy in the wrong place,he deserved that flop too:mjlol:

If Kurupt could do 3 mil with a group in his prime, what you think he wouldve done solo as anticipated as he was....your right, who knows:sas1:....,but in the words of B Legit,i know you know:sas2:

Main point is prodigy aint got shyt on Kurupt in any arena,Kurupts style translates anywhere as godly:blessed:

Kuruption was anticipated and We Can Freak It is an all time West Coast classic but the album was a disappointment

there were some gems on there like Ask Yourself a Question, C-Walk, Fresh, It's A Set Up but the album itself made no noise:francis:
