Isn't that what matters most? Keep the other team from scoring more than your team?

I dunno who told these cats that yards gets more of an emphasis over points in defensive football. Sure the idiot talking heads on TV make it seem so, but I recall being a 19 year old kid, sitting in an auditorium with my teammates in college in August listening to the first legit DC I ever had lay the foundation of our defensive philosophy. This young, cocky, crazy mofo couldn't stop emphasising one point: I don't care how many yards we give up, points must be held to a minimum, that the only stat he cares about is DPA. By the time camp was over, that message was so ingrained that those of us who've gone on to coach defense from that team would emphasise the same thing to our players years later. That DC has moved on to brighter & better things from coaching 1aa players in the smallest state in the US. He's now one of the foremost defensive minds in the college game who I'm sure we'll one day see in the league.

And in case you're wondering who that influential DC was, he's currently a HC at an ACC school. It was UPitt's Pat Narduzzi.

You can't guarantee nonsense like this either. Your guarantees are only working on this notion that you want Rex to be better than Beli (for whatever reason), on some illusory correlation shyt. It's not as simple as looking at defensive rankings either i) they don't take into account what happens in the postseason ii) they don't take into account the fact that Beli isn't strictly a DC iii) they don't take into account the fluctuation of talent that comes and goes with being in an environment of parity and chance.

I want you to list me all the great defenses that Rex has under his belt, without the aid of great defensive players.

Which great defenses has belli had without the aid of great defensive players?:jbhmm:
