TYRONE GA!
You as a 49er fan are REALLY forgetting what he did to those 80s squads??? :mindblown:

I know exactly what he did. :mjcry49ers:

Which makes me look at him MORE sideways than ever. :birdman:

Think about it...

1) Walsh was known to script his first 20 or so plays
2) We know :beli: all about dat camera life
3) I don't put it past him to capture what we did for those scripted plays on camera or via his spies

Wouldn't you give that shyt a :patrice: looking back?

Lost A LOT of respect for :beli: defensively after this shyt. Conversely, I gained more respect for him offensively. But defensively, esp with his defensive rankings since 2008, shyt looks VERY suspect fam. And he is the one picking the players too?

That's the zone blitz breh

:blessed:
its stupid breh,we used to lose so many games because of that shyt

why would you blitz your best cover linebacker on 3rd & long?

why drop your best pass rusher into coverage on 3rd & long?

why drop your nose tackle into coverage at all?

that shyt used to piss me off so much breh

Rexs scheme is good for defense that is lacking in talent but when you already have a great D you gotta let them do what they do best

you dont need to do all that extra shyt with great players, thats how you end up outsmarting yourself

look what Marvin Lewis did with the 2000 Ravens. We played a vanilla base 4-3 man D the whole year and dominated

look at Seattle now, they basically play cover 3 every down

too many coaches nowadays always trying to be too cute when they dont really have to

TYRONE GA!

exactly how I feel. Sorry, but his whole discography is shaky to me now.

That's my petty agenda and I'm stickin to it!!

consistent top defenses from the 80s up until spygate, but suspect ever since? Doesn't raise an eyebrow?

NOPE. That nikka been filming for decades and the evidence shows he been suspect since!!!!

:beli: sucks at evaluating talent but i respect his defensive mind

his team always has great schemes and gameplans on both sides of the ball

IMO hes the best at creating schemes to fit the talent he has

hes not like alot of these stubborn coaches who are always trying to force a square peg into a round hole

The zone blitz is designed to leave the best o-lineman standing there with his dikk in his hand. He waits to block your defensive lineman, who drops back to cover a small part of the field where he doesn't have to worry about being outrun by a RB. Meanwhile a LB gets a free shot on the QB because the left tackle is too far out of position. I think the pure zone blitz is obsolete now.

Funny you mention Seattle because the Steelers are going from cover 3 to cover 2. Depends on your coach's philosophy and your talent.

I voted for Beli cuz Ive seen his defenses destroy some ridiculously good teams...I'm talking about those Giants defenses btw...

That said its a close one, you cannot disregard Rex's defensive prowess...Rex inherited 4-3 personnel that couldn't stop a nosebleed with Mangina calling the plays and within two seasons turned that personnel into one of the best 3-4 defenses of all time...The man is a genius when it comes to defense and makes it work even when he doesn't have the players...
