Take away what bill has done with the patriots and he still has a better resume than Rex..... Come on
Rex never had players like Lawrence taylor, Phil simms, Tom brady, Richard Seymore, ty law, bruschi etc.DOESNT BELI HAVE 6 RINGS?
2 AS DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR OF THE GIANTS?
His Defensive coordinators are now other people's defensive coordinators bro.He no longer being solely a DC may have more to do with that
Gimme a defense he had that was great wo great personnel? Im waiting..yall keep saying the Giants, that defense had arguably the defensive goat, another hof in carson, other standouts like banks, johnson and van pelt..etc....its amazing how bb owned peyton when he had the loaded defense, as soon as that stopped, peyton owned him...isnt belichick the same dude that jake delhomme lit up for 300+ yds and 3tds and 0 ints in the superbowl??Some of yall need to stop posting.
Tell me, how does one have a GREAT defense, without GREAT personnel? What you're doing is, trying to find (well, in this case not find) an outlier that doesn't exist. Furthermore, who are you to judge on whether or not those players were only great in their own right, and not to any degree great because of Beli and his system(s)? How many of those great players you speak of would have been left out on an island on another franchises, and not have been recognised as great as they are in this frame? Another point - how many coaches/co-ordinators/assistants have managed to produce top-tier defenses EVERY single season, over a lengthy period of time - more specifically over 30 years?Gimme a defense he had that was great wo great personnel? You can't guarantee nonsense like this either. Your guarantees are only working on this notion that you want Rex to be better than Beli (for whatever reason), on some illusory correlation shyt. It's not as simple as looking at defensive rankings either i) they don't take into account what happens in the postseason ii) they don't take into account the fact that Beli isn't strictly a DC iii) they don't take into account the fluctuation of talent that comes and goes with being in an environment of parity and chance.Check out the defendive rankings of the 02, 05, 10, 11, 12, 13 Patriots? What separates Bb is that most great defeneive minds dont have the legendary QB he has? Give Rex Ryan a Matt Ryan level QB, and I guarantee he has a ring or two..that 06 Ravens team was awesome defensively with a great qb,.thats a title team..look at all the great defenses who are a footnote n.history because they didnt have the QB to get the job done..
Lets get this straight. I respect BB as a defensive maestro, but theres this misconception that hes leagues above others in defensive acumen. Its BS...When you factor in pure defensive rankings, many coordinators are his equal...this dudes defense, his best one in NewEngland, was helpless vs Jake Delhomne..Tell me, how does one have a GREAT defense, without GREAT personnel? How many great players were on the Jets defense? Revis, Ellis, maybe David Harris..a far cry from Bruschi, Seymour, Law, Harrison, Wilfork, Samuel and Vrabel...Bb is no more a great coordinator of defense than Kiffin, Jim Johnson, Buddy Ryan as well..hea just on a pedestal because of the result of having arguably the best QB ever and the best defensive player, ever..I guarantee an avg Qb like Delhomme wouldnt have his way with a Rex Ryan defense, like he did with BB in SB 38..You can't guarantee nonsense like this either. I want you to list me all the great defenses that Rex has under his belt, without the aid of great defensive players.
That's because he is.Lets get this straight. I respect BB as a defensive maestro, but theres this misconception that hes leagues above others in defensive acumen. Its BS...When you factor in pure defensive rankings, many coordinators are his equal
Are you really using ONE game as evidence for your argument? Do you really want to go down that road? Do you really want me to bring up less-than-stellar QBs airing it out against Rex defenses?this dudes defense, his best one in NewEngland, was helpless vs Jake Delhomne..
1998 jets best defensive player was mo lewisGimme a defense he had that was great wo great personnel? Im waiting
obviously the answer is beli, but the fukk?. I mean let's be honest Rex Ryan basically piggybacked off of Mangini's guys and defensive schemes.
