First off all I wasn't talking about popularity when it came to Monica, but the fact that Marvel has cooler black characters than DC's lame and generic ones. Monica is actually VERY powerful and can beat most characters. Even characters like Superman. We've never seen such powerful black character like that from DC. And how about you actually pick up a comic that has Monica in it, because she looks like this now in the Ultimates.How many stand-alone books has Photon had

Name me a BLACK DC character as potentially powerful as Monica. The same Monica that Zeus who is a freaking skyfather couldn't even put down.

Doesn't MATTER. In comparison to DC, Marvel has actually invested more in their black characters. Hell Marvel is getting most of their black characters(maybe excluding Blade) out of limbo; Monica, Blue Marvel, Dr Voodoo, Misty Knights,etc... Where are all the DC black heros? Hell where are all the Milestone heros??? They're all in limbo and may be there forever. DC can not even get Static right and he was successful in his TV show. Black Panther never had a mianstream TV show and hardly anyone knew about him or cared about him before the late 2010s and now he's potentially becoming an A-lister...

I think DC has the better black characters, Mr. Terrific, Black Lightening, John Stewart, Static, and Cyborg and hell throw in Icon from the Dakotaverse as well. DC they may not have the best powers, but as characters they are pathetic stereotypes, like the Marvel black hereos. IMHO.

Storm and the X-Men in general are extremely famous all over the West (Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand) and she's a known enough X-Man in Japan - she was in some of the Marvel animes and was in most of the Marvel Versus fighting games by Capcom.
Maybe it's because I'm a little older (I'm 28), but Storm was very very very widely known by non-comic readers back in the 90's and 2000's. My British cousin knew NOTHING about comics, but knew Storm and Wolverine. Everything from the X-Men films (Halle Berry was unquestionably A list by 2003) to the 90's cartoon (bigger hit than Static Shock back in the day, it was massive) to trading cards and the comics themselves featured her, and she was a central figure in all of it. She was a major part of the legendary Chris Claremont run in the 80's which are considered the definitive X-Men stories.
My mom and dad recognize Storm from the movies, I'm 1000000% sure they have no idea who Static Shock is. He's only known by comic fans and younger Millennials.
