Lobbyists: Money to Congress | OpenSecrets

:sas2: Look at all the numbers, I wonder which potential non-Republican candidate would be least susceptible to lobbyist influence? :sas1:

Hes not progressive, hes moderate. Its clear he is from the beginning. We tryna win here.

You're in the OP claiming Beto's energizing the young progressive base, the other posters here are just posting shyt showing you why Beto isn't energizing shyt past the same liberals that keep falling for the okie doke every single election. Beto never backed the Medicare For All bill in the house, he's just doing these cutesy cooking videos and skateboard flips to try and get support for every reason other than his policies.

He even manages to be too p*ssy to just tell the people what he is, a Clinton-esque centrist hellbent on upholding this sickly neoliberal establishment to the fullest.

Why is he polling so high this early if he is not energizing some progressives? Plus the progressive wing will eventually fall in line because they dont want Trump or whoever for another four years and its not Hillary. They saw and lived the consequences of 2016.

I admit it is a facade, I see through it but the average primary voter probably wont know nor care.

Again, he never said he was a progressive, he is red state democrat with neoliberal tendencies just like Clinton 42 and Obama. With charisma and not being an old ass white man, its a proven winning formula at the national level.

And why should he damage himself now? The primary debates will expose him for it but he will still prevail.

Like I said, the progressive agenda needs the senate to make change happen. You need someone who will win the national election and take the senate back with him. I think that person is Beto.

And what is your alternative to having a centrist democrat lead the 2020 ticket?, you cant go too left because you turn off those independents and those 2016 Obama to Trump Voters in the battleground states. It is divisive times right now, not a good idea to feed it even more.

Because he's got mass appeal among the liberals; He's cool, he's trendy, he's extremely safe, and he also talks a good game. His speech patterns about healthcare changed up a lot during his campaign against Cruz, among other things. Average primary voters are stupid I'll admit.

He never did claim that but he's not being honest either. This whole "I don't like labels" bullshyt is just that, bullshyt.

Maybe, maybe not.

Beto isn't someone that wants progressive things, and neither are many other Democrats. Vast swathes of the party are rotten to the core, with some being nothing but proxy Republicans.

Bernie is viewed favourably by the majority of independants and Democrat voters so probably he would be a better alternative. I know for damn sure that someone like Biden wouldn't be getting shyt from me, a man that's dedicated his career to resisting progressive policies isn't worth shyt to me just because he's a Democrat. And why exactly is having some real conviction on the not Republican side of things a bad thing again? Republican voters only want to go further, while Democrats are still trying to find solutions in the center. How much are middle of the road counters worth against far-right swings really?

lol progressives aren't going to support someone "with neoliberal tendencies just like Clinton 42 and Obama", those presidents are shyt on in progressive circles because it has been shown that their politics create Trump. You can't have a truly progressive revolution without a president on your side to push for those policies and implement a progressive administrative state. The Senate alone is not enough. There are a host of policies at the Departement level that will need to be followed through on, and if the President fills those posts with neoliberals or people who don't believe in progressive ideals, America will never get there. Just look at all the shythead Obama secretaries and executive staff who are trying to thwart progressive goals.

bernie bros bout to shoot themselves in the foot again and be sitting at home like

how did trump do it again :mindblown:

How come it's gotta be the progressives bending the knee rather than these centrists? How many election cycles will liberals have to lose before change is accepted, rather than just pointing the finger at those fools that don't believe in simply not being Republican being good enough?
