He can def win Iowa, I think he’ll struggle in places like South Carolina, but might be able to skate by if Harris/Booker/Biden split the black vote

Edit: talking about primary

He lost, I don't get turning this guy into a national figure before he makes big moves at the state level.

If his local actions were known nationally he would be ridiculed...
  • As owner of the Verde Group, the Borderplex Community Trust (that is currently buying property within the redevelopment zone) and founder of the Paso del Norte Group, Sanders is the major driving force behind the plan to demolish a 30 acre-zone of the Segundo Barrio and displace more than 1,800 residents from this historic neighborhood. - Sanders is Betos Father in law
  • Since December 2006, O’Rourke has consistently recused himself because of admitted conflict of interest from votes related to the redevelopment zone, a 302-acre area also known as the TIRZ (Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone) that includes the heart of the Segundo Barrio. For instance in October 17, 2007, he signed a sworn affidavit stating that “I, and or a person or persons related to me have an interest in property in the proposed TIRZ district.”
  • Oddly enough, instead of admitting the obvious conflict of interest involving his father in law who is currently buying up land in the TIRZ zone, O’Rourke states that “my wife’s employer is a landowner in the proposed district.” (AKA "my Father in Law) In other affidavits he states that his wife, Amy Sanders O'Rourke, works for the La Fe Community Development Corporation, a for-profit entity that owns apartments and several businesses within the TIRZ zone. Ms. O'Rourke is currently the executive director of the La Fe Preparatory charter school. "
  • "O’Rourke gave no explanation why, if has signed sworn statements in the past admitting to conflict of interest in the TIRZ zone, he believes it is ethical to cast the deciding vote on a matter related to this same zone."
  • Jan. 29, 2007 - “Some Segundo Barrio residents were told the vote on the ordinance was postponed for a week and they left. It’s not going to hurt you to postpone it for a week. You should always err on the part of the citizens. You’ve obviously already made up your mind how you’re going to vote anyway. But at least let them speak before you cast your vote. Please postpone it for a week. It’s not going to hurt anything. Otherwise the people will go with a real bad taste in their mouth”
  • "The speaker, who is a regular at City Hall meetings, spoke in support of a group of Segundo Barrio residents who had shown up at City Hall on Tuesday morning to sign up to speak on the eminent domain ordinance but left after they were told that the vote and discussion on the issue had been postponed for a week. The City voted 4-3 to deny the request for postponement.
  • O’Rourke again cast the deciding vote.“The residents are free to come back next week and address the council if they wish during the open comments period,” O’Rourke told Mrs. Ochoa. He did not inform her that next week whatever the residents have to say will not affect City Council's vote on Segundo Barrio expropriations. That vote has already been cast"
Much like Lomas del Poleo, residents are being displaced by a closed and non-public process which benefits some of the same developers. According to one resident, Maria Guadalupe Ochoa, in lieu of violence, residents of the Segundo Barrio are faced with dilemmas such as developers “offering $20,000 for your house and you have to take it because your children have needs.”

>use of eminent domain with the land being redeveloped from Residential into Commercial
>Wealthy father in law
>charter schools
>misrepresents personal financial conflictions

Crony Capitalism and the leverage of a local position of authority to financially aid his Father in law. Color him blue and you got a half baked neo-con :russ:

Nobody as a Democrat would win SC. SC is one of the most backwards state in thi country.

Trust me, being anything other than a Republican here is.a waste of time.

He already made his move on the state level and imo was successful despite not winning the seat...

Name me one Dem that could have gotten that close to winning Cruz senate seat in Rethuglican stronghold gerrymandered Texas ?Lying Rafael was so scared he had to get on his knees and beg private bone spurs to throw a moron rally for him...

That said I agree with those who say 2020 is too early for Beto...That's why I like him better running as VP in 2020...Biden/Beto makes the most sense for me because Biden at his age is probably only good for one term which will allow Beto to grow nationally and take over in 2024...

While I cant get behind that eminent domain fukkery

I cant imagine voters will give a shyt

Whats Fox news going to do? Demonize cronyism? I doubt it

It's not about what FOX will say, there will be plenty of self serving Dems willing to sling shyt at him to boost their prospects of being the Democratic nominee.

Don't know much, but I know it's gonna get ugly before the nominee is chosen.

Trump is obviously going to win reelection.

But Why not pair beto with someone black so that the race is at least close.
@Rhakim
Emotional Fagot negged me cuz he said this was defeatist:mjgrin:

Lol, must not follow modern politics or the social circumstances of why someone may predict. Trump repeat (other than the fact that incumbents usually win)

It isn't emotional, it's practical. We just saw multiple strong Black candidates lose by only a few thousand votes in races where millions of Black people didn't vote. Before the election there were people on these boards claiming they couldn't win. That kind of defeatism affects real elections.

Trump had to be extraordinarily lucky to win last time, when he lost the popular vote badly and only won Michigan/Wisconsin/Pennsylvania by tiny margins easily attributable to random chance. His favorability is still terrible and the Democrats are almost certain to run a better candidate against him than the WOAT Hillary Clinton. Not to mention that it's stupid to claim to definitively know the outcome of an election two years in advance - if you claim you can predict like that, you must not follow modern politics.

There was nothing helpful or accurate about your statement.

Beto is a loser
Most of the prospects ive seen have been losers..
There are Winners who probably wont get pushed to the top cuz of how Machine Acting the Dems are.
I seen an ad today about "The Democratic Agenda" or some shyt, highlighting health care, immigration , anti trump, n stuff... And it basically zoomed over everyone else and Focused on damn NansyPolosi, lol

Freshness... Will defeat trump. A SPECIFIC focus on Black Issues will defeat Trump... Trump will lose the Popular vote but we are in America (electoral college is a fair system)..... He won't lose if the Dems make the same mistake Again and have black people not turn up in places like Michigan
