2015-17 had a lot of games with great stories that still play like games in 2023, I think the 5 year limit is arbitrary.

My favorite is about a company that sends it's supporters through a grand surreality rabbit hole where they make Grand promises of great prosperity to its loyal supporters, only to let them down again and again, it's virtually unbeatable.

I feel like God of War 2018 was the best modern game story I've experienced since Mass Effect.

Chained Echoes was also really good

Tales of Arise was pretty good too.

GOW 2018 and Chained Echoes instantly came to my mind. Also fire emblem 3 houses and triangle strategy
GOT story was also really good as well.
