I've seen Wu stans and 90's heads say that shyt. Stomach lines even made a thread on it I think. Way too many tracks, Rae had the insomniac flow at the time just no way he was the best rapper that year he was never the best rapper at any point, it don't stack up to the first in no ways.

It doesn't have those classic beats and skits. It was a cool sequel, one of the best projects of '09 but a bit bland and dull. This is not an album that shifted the needle in any way. So Far Gone did. Keep it reality what's the last time you heard this shyt in full all 70 minutes, how often do you revisit it? What classic tracks are on there?

Like I said '09 wasn't about Rae he dropped a sequel to a classic for his niche fans. '09 was about mixtapes and the new class. Wale, Drake, Cole, Wiz, Kendrick, Cudi was all dropping their tapes/debut albums at this time. The game was shifting. Lil Wayne still had shyt on lock it was a huge year for Young Money period. That No Ceilings mixtape was very well received.

Man, woman, and child
Personal favorite was Wale cause pretty girls was my shyt for almost 2 years, It's funny cause i've been listening to it every day for the past couple weeks and it's an alarm ringtone

but frfr it was Drake, successful and best I ever had were everywhere.

I'm in NoVA so radio wise i was listening to 93.9 wkys and wpgc 95.5, they played those 2 nonstop. Maybe it was different in other areas
I swear 93.9 still plays Successful on the regular:mjlol:

'one of' is not 'the' :yeshrug:

big eats rae alive in 95 too :heh:

i mean i never said he's never in the convo, i said he never actually took the top spot. imo of course :ehh:
Raekwon is super one dimensional, Pyrex visions and geography bars, uses one flow, beat selection and album direction been real iffy without RZA's guidance.

How can Rae be considered the best when a bunch of people think GFK outrapped him on Linx and Nas had the best verse on the whole damn album? He damn sure wasn't seeing B.I.G., AZ, or Prodigy for me as a rapper. Those Linx albums are group efforts for as much as they are Rae solos.

It's been a few years since I played the whole thing front to back in the car.
I go back to the vinyl to play select cuts at least once a year. It's one of those albums that I definitely go back to for that.
As for classic tracks?
Surgical Gloves is the one I alway seem to go back to. Then I always listen to the joint with Kiss and P after it :lolbron:
Gihad if the kids aren't around :russ:
I'm not saying its not a flawed album...it's not perfect. But its a really dope album.

LOL at talking about GOATs and not referring to The Real Slim Shady aka. B-Rabbit aka. Eminem aka. Feminem's Finest aka. White Chocolate aka. 12 Double D's of Dopeness

My votes for Rae and Ghost were just troll votes lol their best verses on OB4CL II are still inferior to the worst song on Relapse aka 12 Double D's of Dopeness's 4th masterpiece:ahh:

Have you listened to Raekwon at all?

If GFK out-rapped him on OB4CL, what did Rae do to Ghost on Ironman?

but back to flows....

so Incarcerated Scarfaces has the same flow as Box in Hand? Or Duck Seazon? Or House of Flying Daggers?

I don't think he outrapped him on Ironman. He did have one of my favorite verses on the album in Faster Blade though. Soul Controller, After the Smoke is Clear, Fish, the way he conveyed urban poverty and emotive display in All That I Got Is You? Nah, Ghost got that. Ghost is just a way better artist than Raekwon. I feel Rae fans say he got him on Ironman to make up for Cuban Linx.

Rae for the most part in his career uses the same flow and at the time of Linx 2 and his MBDTF feature he sounded asleep rapping. I remember you saying Nas flow was one dimensional but he's used more flows than Rae. I've listen to Rae and it's been 20 years of Pyrex visions, storytelling songs, and geography bars. He's in the same boat as Kiss and Pusha T for me. He is one of the most one dimensional rappers there is not to say he's not good.
