@kingofnyc you make some great points breh but as mobbinfms said, it will be confusing trying to carry things over from certain years.

I believe an album (which will contain most of these singles anyway) should take priority over the singles, but obviously if you released an album late that year and released a single or two first and they were popping or vice-versa but within the calendar year, you might get an edge over the dude who just released an album (that was equally as good) but no singles or blowing up to speak of.

So I put Biggie in 1994 instead of 1995, where we could give those 95 options to people who crafted albums, and lord knows there are many contenders for that stacked year too

Krayzie,bizzy,layzie,wish?

my recommendation is don't ask for obscure picks if they haven't shown up unless you are definitely gonna vote for one of them

only bring someone up if he ain't featured in the poll and you plan to vote for that person

I couldn't write all 4 down so I left them out altogether

as I said...doesn't matter

you weren't gonna vote for any of them, nor was anybody else

only 7 artists have received votes....and people like Scarface and Redman haven't got any

@Awesome Wells just curious as to why you picked Redman over Big and Nas for 94?

By '94, Red' was easily my favorite rapper at the time. He was at his peak '94-'96.

Nas and BIG were just dropping their debuts, but I had been a Redman fan at that point since like '90. From the EPMD albums. I played Illmatic and Ready to Die all day, after they dropped. But I was a Redman fanatic for a minute. Probably until right after Muddy Waters.

Ok cool

I figured that out of the 3 years Redman can contend (92, 94 and 96), this is his least plausible one. I think he should be frontrunner or top 2 for 1992. He even won the Source Award for that year. 1996 was arguably his best album and the peak of his rapping. I think in 1994 there are better options than him even though I love his album to death. But he's a great option in any year in the 90s where he released, even 1998.
