Unfortunately their business model just doesn't work in 2021. There's little to no reason to even go to Best Buy when you can get the same thing cheaper from Amazon and delivered to your door in a day.

Yep. Most of the laptops that are on "sale", you can get a WAY better deal on Amazon. I remember the brokest of folks coming in looking sad as hell at all of the burst sku laptops being gone in favor of the heavy priced onces (which we have to push to the moon).

I would pull out my phone and tell them about the deals on Amazon and them dudes be like "and I wasted gas to come in this place"

Even the whole "Price match" ordeal is a joke because there's limitations to what you can do. Sometimes I used to let folks slide and some of the supervisors be like whatever. That was probably my best role in the store was hooking up brehs with good deals.

Beyond those perks, the entire store is high priced and folks just come in to window shop. It's basically adult "Toys R Us"

its crazy nobody talks about the housing costs being extreme. Its like are we going to keep boosting pay while housing still increases in cost? Why not get that in check? The min wage increase will be null and void in another decade. Are we gonna then have to aim for 21 dollar minimum wage?

Cost of living is the real crisis.. not no damn minimum wage.. how people dont see this is to me

I was just speaking to my cousin about this. Talking about a min increase and he works at Kroger. I’m like dude you need to quit being lazy and make shyt happen yourself. Try to at least advance at the job or learn a skill or apply a skill you learned at Kroger for a better paying job.

Yeah man. And he can work his way up in that bytch....too many people content thinking a wage increase will save them.

My cousin stressing because her husband got fired yesterday. They post yeezys and uggs and dumb designer shyt on IG all day everyday but not stressing over 850 a month rent

My thing is min wage should be for teens. Issue is grown ass folks be working jobs meant for teens. In HS i literally never got interviews for mall jobs because companies rather hire an adult who can work all day than a teen who can come in for a few hours after school and the weekend.

I still feel housing is an issue, because in my city every new housing development is listed as ''luxury' lol. Like is there not new 'regular' housing being built? You would think with technology advancements it would be easy to built affordable housing but instead they build cheap and tax to maximize margins

Yea I believe that "luxury" title is a scam. Like so what is a new apartment complex that is not "luxury" look like? They building all these new complexes where I am at(Gwinnett, GA) where the damn rent starts at $1400 for a one bedroom 600 sq ft apartment.

I do agree minimum wage needs to be raised but damn. Is there any accountability on the actual people?

Even that "15 dollar raise" they gave Best Buy reps was a facade because they gutted the everlasting hell out of hours. Even folks that worked fulltime ended up getting guaranteed hours cut to damn near 30 to 20.

The reps that are apart of certain brands can't even get a bonus anymore due to these sad revelations.

It's all around messed up.

Right now, I'm trying to go back to what I should had done before all of this nonsense and that's writing. Its a struggle for now but the plan is coming in God's eyes.

All I know is that it's going to get extremely ugly in this country as the retail apocalypse is not showing any type of slow downs.
