Worst is..

Sorry to say it..

RZA.
Because his wu tang introduction and run was beyond special then Hollywood came and took him but its also growth, wealth & travel.

He had one of the best transitions from Prince Rakeem to RZA though.

Dunno if Roc Marciano fits the bill, from a semi-obscure Flipmode member to underground legend in his own right.

Dre had Cube and K-Dee sounding like Toddy Tee from "Batterram" in 86 then had them yelling their heads off like the Beasite Boys under the name C.I.A.

Worst reinvention:

Yo Gotti- After 2016, his music became too radio based. It wasn’t no more Live From The Kitchen, Cocaine Muzik. I kinda miss when Yo Gotti used to have a speech impediment on certain words. I can’t remember the last time that the streets played a Yo Gotti project that u can play through.

Shyne- Came out of prison rapping like he was raped inside of there. He know longer has that nasaly sound.

Busta Rhymes- Went from being a cartoonish bafoon on records to being a Coke Dealer on Big Bang.

Didn’t Busta get kidnapped by some dealers up in Baltimore??? Cutting off his dreads didn’t help either

Best reinvention:

Uncle Murda- Went from releasing mixtapes and being shelved by Def Jam to jacking Mad Skillz’ Rap Up series and getting a bunch of success from it. Now every year, Murda gets more comedic and uncut discussing the years events. This year may be darker.

Curren$y/Starlito- Both artists were under Cash Money for a bit.

Once they left and realized that the label wasn’t in their best interests , Both artists managed to carve out a niche and build a grassroots following independently.

Lito>>>>All the new CMG signees except for EST Gee and Glorila

Guerrilla Black biting Mystikal before he chose to bite Biggie and fell off.

I’m kinda glad that he went to biting Biggie….

With Mystikal getting in trouble over that rape situation, it wasn’t a good look.

Guerilla could have signed to Bad Boy and made some new Biggie songs using A.I

The best is Rick Ross after Mafia Music

Ross’ put his heart into this album…

The first two albums sounded too Miami based.

Valley Of Death still gets play from me now.

I think Ross realized that less was better on Teflon Don. Deeper Than Rap had some filler on it.

I didn’t like the Robin Thicke and Dream tracks and the J. Holiday one.

In Cold Blood could have been left for a mixtape.

Replace that with Cigar Music and we have a classic album

So many good picks already.

I'd say Wayne's "rockstar phase" from 2010-2013 was one of the worst not only musically but culturally too.

Man was trying hard to pander to his White fanbase with the mediocre skateboarding, awful guitar playing, dropping that trash rock album, and making cheesy pop songs like How To Love but it didn't feel authentic enough to expand his fanbase.

I'd even argue that this phase was worse than current Wayne from 2018 and onward cause at least Wayne is more of a spitter these days and his album with 2Chainz was pretty solid.
