I think I had too high of expectations. It’s a good album, but not extraordinary. The Fraud beats are kinda mid, and I’m a big Fraud fan. The Benny verses were kinda mid for him too.

I’ve only listened to it twice so far, so maybe it’ll grow on me with more listens :ld:

I was underwhelmed when I heard Fraud was producing this but now I'm pleasantly surprised this joint is fukking fire

Harry fraud needs to produce a full Bronson album with this type of production (DRUMS)

can't lie off the first listen I'd put Plugs 1 over this but that was my introduction to Benny so there is bias

so I went back and listened to the the first 1 and I can't deny that Plugs 2 is the more complete & cohesive tape, but Plugs 1 had the better highs (Crowns For Kings & Took the Money)

more listens are needed tho

This is mid. I like 3-4 cuts. Not impressed with some of the beats. Benny has to expand his subject matter badly. Verses are still dope in a sense but they're almost repackaged verses from Tana Talk, Plugs 1, and Burden of Proof. Add a story, a song about a fun night on the town, tell us about Buffalo a bit more in depth outside of the dope game, etc. Gotta move past the Pyrex talk on a few songs. Benny and Conway is neck to neck imo

Which trap rapper do you find does this well?

serious question

You consider Benny a 'trap rapper'? Too me he's like a vintage throw back Jay Z Reasonable Doubt-Hard Knock Life era rapper. He's old school which is dope he just seems to be running out of material at this stage of his career. Other guys would've incorporated some new subject matter if they successfully got to a third album stage of their career imo.

Holy. Never realized he has that much material. I got into him at the first Plugs I met and just listened to Tana Talk 3 right after
His career really starts in 2016 nobody heard that other shyt and a lot of it hard to find and dated and unmixed

At this point you can simply grab verses out a bag, throw them on random beats, add a hook and boom you have a Benny song. I’m looking forward to TT4 but we know exactly what it’s going to sound like.

There’s such a lane for general hustle music. Not really about drugs but just getting it, motivating people, shyt talk, etc. He def did that on Burden Of Proof to a degree and I’d rather hear that than him say “plug” or “interstate” for the 100th time.

drug rapper*
What I’m asking is which rapper that is known for his material has transitioned to the other lane well?
