I still think Benny is ahead on project quality, but the gap is narrowing. Covid ended up being a blessing for Conway. He locked himself in the studio for a year straight, and forced himself to learn how to A&R, executive producer, and even (at least a little bit) engineer/record his own projects.

West has dropped more duds than people realize. Especially recently. 2 of his last 3 are at the bottom tier of his work.
Benny and Conway run laps around WSG. WSG has maybe one project I really fukk with, the rest is hype off that one + good features sprinkled throughout. He’s a rapper that regularly gets outshined by his features. Like every time.

Im not holding my breath for the just blaze but I really hope so.
Also, we got Reject 3 and La Maquina on deck from Conway. There’s a Lulu sequel in the works too, but I doubt it’ll drop before next year.

I think West makes very dope mood/vibe/aesthetic music. He’s not an emcee in the way that Conway and Benny are. And he doesn’t really try to be.
I think he’s made some incredible work, despite his last couple projects being lackluster. Like @Ty-Fife said..Flygod, Supreme Blientele, Pray for Paris, Awesome God, etc, are all great projects. I think he’s an excellent executive producer that knows how to build projects that highlight his strengths and downplay his weaknesses.
I definitely can’t listen to West anytime. I gotta be in the mood. Benny and Conway are easier listens in more situations.
Edit: You mentioned 500 Ounces and being out rapped by Marci and Gibbs. Like, I don’t even think West is attempting to out-rap them on there. He’s not an out-bar you type rapper, and I think he just tries to capture a vibe in his verses.
