Plenty of alternatives within the same vein that are better, imo. AZ. Styles. Ransom. Spesh. Gibbs (although I think he’s corny). I can name other mcs within the gangsta rap genre whose music is actually creative and deep.

I just don’t think he’s a good writer, and that’s beginning to become obvious the more prolific output is.

Benny isn’t the most lyrical rapper. He’s just the slickest. He’s truly the new age Hov in that regard. Without the massive commercial appeal, of course. But he has a tremendous ear for beats and can just rap his ass off. He’s a top tier rapper.

Finally got a chance to give this a thorough listen. I'll say it. Benny is the best right now. Him and Conway are clearly on another level. Benny's delivery is flawless. The urgency and directness of his delivery is impressive. Them Griselda boys man :whew:

Not gonna lie...not really feeling the album outside of a couple tracks. Feels like I've heard this before, but better. Beats feel stagnant and slow. I like some of the Alch beats on here but after Continuance and Super Tecmo Bo (and the outro beat on Conway's album) it just feels rather forgettable beat wise for him, outside of Johnny P's Caddy.

If I never hear another Beat Butcha co-production I'll die a happy man. Same general type of shyt every time. Ten More Crack Commandments...nah.

Rap wise there are a few dope verses but it's just...largely the same flow and content over and over. Funny enough this is what I expected to get from Conway - the nonstop drug bars. I figured Benny would switch it up here a bit. Turns out Conway switched up and Benny didn't.

Stove God tho :banderas:

Had to quit blazin' cigarettes
Was two-timin' my dame, I'm a bigamist
But the gang half of the blame, I live with regret
My brain a bit of a wreck
All this stress and strain left a disconnect
Cheffin' up all the 'caine in that kitchenette
Acquainted with big execs who filthied up my name just to split a check
Feel like I been betrayed by my silhouette
Mistakes was made to correct
How I deal with the fame made me get upset
Treat it the same way that I lived with death, shyt weighin' a nikka down
Refrainin' from different stages of self-neglect
Give me chills in my veins, takin' whatever's left
From everything that was tooken in blatant disrespect
For good, better, best, wouldn't trade it for less
Took everything that came with it, and that came with a check
But yet and still a nikka rich off pain and depressed
Chasin' a letterhead, ain't got a case to catch
David Blaine with the press, tame the dog and made it fetch
What else?

Effortless :scust:

Finally was able to finish it off and yeah this is boring. Daringer beats are so plain and generic, but the Al beats were on point. Just repetitive topics and nothing new, and I like Griselda. Probably will not play this again after today.
