He should drop soon, who knows if any other rappers will drop in the 4th quarter. Hearing stuff about big rappers releasing music soon.
You would think rappers would get it by now, but keep jumping on these deals and pumping out mid shyt because major label.
Rappers don’t want to be broke and not EVERYONE has the grind of a Currensy or Boldy James where they’re ready and willing to go years and years building a fanbase.
Majors are still offering bags & distribution. Thats the only reason why I see ANY artist with a decent buzz signing with them these days. Jay-Z ain’t doing no features for an independent artist. Nas would but lets say the sample he hops on cost 75K to clear. Lets say that Drake hooks costs 100K. That Metro Beat is 150K. Kendrick wants 50K plus travel expenses just to show up for the video. Megan Thee Stallion’s performance fee is $30K for her to perform with you at the Bet Awards. Where’s all that money coming from?
Could Benny have gotten a Wayne feature if he was independent? More than likely yes, but how much is Wayne charging to clear it? How much is Alchemist charging for the “Top tier sample” files versus the “No samples for independent nikkas” files? How much is Hit Boy charging? Majors are supposed to handle that type of shyt
