shyt salaries. You do all that work and you don't get a fair paycheck, and you have to go through all this bullshyt just to be eligible for those jobs. Don't know why anybody would wanna take their career in either of those routes. Rather deliver pizzas

What bs do you have to go through to be a cop? Are states suppose to hire any bum off the street? "Hey you, take this gun and go uphold the law". :childplease:
A lot of government/state jobs require you to go through a thorough process to get hired.

NYC cops start off with like 44-47k a year. They're cops, not lawyers breh. They aren't rich, but no cop should be complaining about his salary unless bullets are whizzing by his head every other day.

Being a substitute teacher is the WOAT.

The students make it their job to make your life a living hell. I should know. :skip:

My mom works for the Oakland school district, and the best thing about the job is the benefits.
I don't know about today, but when I was growing up, the medical benefits were really good. That's very important when you're raising four kids.

My best friend growing up is now a cop. He always complains about the job and the pay, but dude makes over $100k a year.
He hates the job and other cops, but was able to get into the motor patrol. So now he at least gets to do something he loves, ride motorcycles.

Being a teacher is horrible, my girl is a teacher and it's has even wrecked havoc on our relationship. She works as a teacher in a head start inclusion class. There are no jobs in real schools So shes only making 43k a year. Thus shes struggling badly with her student loans. Though partially her fault because her degree is special ed so if she applied for NYC board of ed she probably would have gotten a job. She only gets 2 weeks off in August. It's not even the kids that cause the trouble, it's the other staff. She had one teacher threaten her because one of the assistants said my GF said so and so about, which she didn't, when her supervisors came in about the situation, the assistant said my GF was just stressed out because of Hurricane Sandy. Shes had assistants steal from. Another one hit the kids. Supervisors that don't know or care. She at one point found a good job in Coney Island making 48k a year with yearly raises and a good staff, but the commute coming home was 2 hours. So yeah...being a teacher fukking sucks.

For teachers, they have to get a degree and a teaching license.
To be a cop, you don't need a degree, but you need to complete police academy, which is kind of like a short-term tech/trade school. And then, you are tested to pass a test, both written and verbal tests. That gets you your badge. Later, you have to do what is called Field Training, where a field training officer shows you the ropes on the street. He or she determines whether you have what it takes to be on the road by yourself. Field training is around 2 to 4 months. You can fail out in the academy, in tests, or in field training. Having a degree can help you get higher pay, but that's about it.
