What a stupid firing. Might as well let him finish out the season and fire him after. They not making the playoffs anyway. The didn't do shyt basically as they aren't gaining anything for doing this. Clearly not gonna hire the interim coach.

The craziest thing are the people online defending yesterday's decision not to use the timeout, and people today saying the firing is a bad idea. You have got to be idiotic to believe either of those things.

You don't call the timeout, you risk losing precious time that you need while your players are scrambling to get back and lined up.

You don't fire this coach after that catestrophic blunder, you risk your fans turning on the whole franchise.

At some point, you have to cut your losses.

 Nah, the last thing Bears fans would want to happen is for him to go into job-saving mode, finish with 7-9 wins and sell that to management that the team is headed in the "right direction" with him in charge :mjlol:, return next year, and the same thing happens AGAIN. :scust: @Brozay @Deafheaven @GoldenGlove @beenz @BBG @jerniebert

fukk that, bush him, and keep it pushin. :camby:

Just like it had to be done here in N.O. with Stinky :jordanfacepalm: @King Poetic

when you have a player tweeting that out after the firing, I think it says everything we needed to know

if he lost the locker room, he has to go

Media got him fired today. He would have made it to the end of the season. Whats the point today? Still gotta pay him. GM should be next honestly
The Bears tend to flame out horribly on the National stage. This was a necessary evil, you're right tho, the media ridicule was the nail in the coffin.

Which is sad, because after they scored 3 points against the Patriots and got blown out at hone, should have been the final straw. But since it wasn't a primetime matchup, he survived

I wonder how attractive the job is
Very.

Of all the potential franchises that will be looking for a coach, how many have a better roster than Chicago? The Bears are an offensive line and a competent coaching staff away from being in the mix. They're already in 1 score games with a rookie QB being lead by one of, if not the worst situational coach in NFL history

Have you looked at their remaining schedule? It's brutal and they got like 8 losses. If they didn't fire him when it meant something just let him finish out the season. They aren't going to hire someone else right now and with Caleb they'll swing big on a coach and not default to the interim.

Firing him with 5 games left in the regular season is classless. It was obvious he should have been fired well before then but they held on. The sort of incompetence people running the team doing stuff like this will continue to fail at running the team.
