If my best friend is dying and my kid is being born, I’m going to say goodbye to my best friend. My girl would hopefully understand that the end of that chapter forever on this plane of existence is something that is important. It’s not “more” important but its a different level of importance considering you don’t need to see your kid being born physically to still enjoy all of the richness that comes with that child’s birth and life for the rest of yours
