Yeah i see a lot of black males with degrees who struggle to find jobs.

A huge problem is the interviewer. Your typically gonna be dealing with a white interviewer. They are gonna be more comfortable putting on their own & more confidant that they made the right decision. I've had a lot of interviews. In the jobs I've gotten in the past, the common denominator is the interviewer was usually just cool as hell. They could care less if your black, white, green, etc as long as you can do the job. Unfortunately, these kind of interviewers aren't really that common. Anytime I go to an interview, as a black male you gotta appear as harmless and as less threatening as possible. I do subtle things like wear glasses.

the main problem wit interviews is dudes dont prepare & just walk in there...... ive NEVER failed an interview... the point is to use your words to sell yourself & it kills me when i see a dude that can kill a show of 1000 but cant hold a convo 1v1...

As a black man you have to be twice as qualified as the white guy. My pops showed me that and I've prepared myself accordingly. You pretty much have to be so qualified for whatever position you want you make the hiring manager admit they are racist for not picking you.

Another obstacle is that we aren't exposed to many of those high paying trade jobs. If you have a kid you know isn't really cut out for an advanced college degree then try and find some good trade schools and push them in that direction.

the community place i go to for programs does hiring too, almost every counselor is an ex - crackhead, dealer, gang member, huster, abuser, etc.... these dudes dont even have GEDs & run one of the states most successful programs, i seen people wit degrees apply for the same job i got & get blown off.... if we build together nothing can stop us............ im assuming youre brown skinned....

I will say the collapse in the housing market was the best thing to ever happen to me. nikkas missed their opportunities to come up because we are too comfortable and refuse to put money together.
