I think it also comes down to the people who are doing the hiring for companies. They need to be held accountable in some way. Or have hiring/reviewing resume's as a "group" process with a group of HR people that have varied nationalities/backgrounds?

as a collective, whites are not going to willingly elevate blacks as their economic equal. i mean, why would they do it? what benefits or incentives do whites have to give us a level playing field? we're talking about a group that often views interracial dating as genocide to their race.

i'm certain they'd rather have us poor and create prisons to shovel us into when we break their laws. solution is to build our own and circulate that money within, no other way.

This is why it disgusts me when people are against social service programs, not everyone is on equal footing in this country and they deserve help. I definitely know during Jim Crowe that black business owners were lynched and murdered because of white people's fears of them gaining economic power (and thus political influence) but I'm just not so sure that is still going on today on that level. I also think whites being out-right racist is a minority within the population of white people but maybe I'm wrong.

The whole prison industry is one of the most disgusting aspects of our society to date and it NEVER gets talked about. Eliminating the drug war would help so much on that front.

i also believe whites being "outright" racist are in the minority, but the overall population still benefitts from the minority that's willing to do what needs to be done to keep white supremacy alive. also, there's just a lot of subconscious favoritism that's allowed within white society. you don't have to call it racism but if given a choice, whites usually prefer to stick within their own group. that goes with dating, hiring, politics, all aspects of life that also directly affects black people.

and it's cool that there's whites who understand the foulplay, but most of you aren't willing to jeopardize your well being to stand up for ours. which, hey, i don't really blame you. im not even certain whites can fix what they've done to us. you could give blacks reparations today and the money would be back in your hands tomorrow. this shyt has to be solved strictly within, and we've got a lot of people (of all races) who dont want us to have the necessary conversations to progress

shyt is hard enough trying to get a job as it is, to have to deal with racist @ssholes is infuriating to me and I don't even have to deal with them. It's crazy that just having a "black" name will have people throw your resume in the bushes. How do we stop racism on such an institutional level?

When I was 12 my school planned a trip for us to a mock Tudor castle knowing full well that the guy that runs it belonged to a racist political party and had had problems with black students in the past. Only this time they thought they'd be smart and plan the trip so that there wasn't enough room on the coach and tell the rest they submitted permission forms last, thinking our parents wouldn't notice that the 3 students that couldn't go were the only black kids in the class

Dad confronted my teacher (dude was obsessed with African culture and was always going on about historical injustice etc.) about it and he started copping pleas about being on the outs with the principal and not wanting to lose his job.

Didn't occur to me at the time but everytime I think about how people aren't willing to undermine their own privilege this comes to mind.

And if a black somehow makes it into one of those coveted white collar positions, he's subjected to low key - and oftentimes blatant - harassment until he either quits or snaps and does something to result in termination. White people HATE to see black men doing well for themselves, because just one successful black man can start a family of successful black men and women, and they can't have that.
