I’m probably gonna return this shyt looks horrible sorry not sorry. It’s way to low res for me. The combat is good of course and that’s not a issue but wtf I only payed 29$ for this and I feel ripped off

Damn shame what’s become of Platinum

Digital Foundry is tearing it apart :picard:

In gameplay terms and in its wealth of ideas, Bayonetta 3 is another great release from Platinum Games - but this time the consistency in visual quality varies too dramatically, performance is not where it should be and there's a general lack of overall polish. John Linneman has the DF verdict.
  • textures can be low res and muddy
  • the enemy scale is much bigger with more frequent large enemies
  • battle arenas are much larger and the camera is zoomed out
    • due to such, the camera clips through walls
    • to save on fillrate, lots of dithered geometry
  • dynamic 810p docked
  • dynamic 480p portable
  • environment detail really breaks down at close range
  • a good bit of pop-in for small option and low resolution alphas for effects
  • cutscenes are 30fps, no still frames from Bayonetta 1
    • however some videos are videos
    • transitions are seamless though
  • large set-piece scenes are 30fps with solid frame pacing
  • on-foot, the frame rate would rarely hit 60fps, even in non-combat moments
  • similar to Wonderful 101 on Wii U in performance, better than Bayonetta 1 on PS3
  • loading times are fast, as long as 12 seconds
  • great game, but very ambitious, too ambitious for Switch
  • Platinum tools might be seeing some age

Sorry but nintendo needs new hardware, its getting ridiculous. Who wants to play a fast paced action game at 480p resolution with constant frame drops?

I’m not that big in graphics but cmon Nintendo this is garbage and I’m a fan of Bayo since the first demo was 360.

I know it’s the Switch and hardware is old but this is bad, I don’t understand how this game got high scores.

Im not feeling the enemy designs either it’s like they just mailed it in. As y’all can see I’m highly disappointed so far

So, it sounds like Platinum Games pulled a Team Ninja (Ninja Gaiden 2 360 version) with this game

Not even gonna lie, I'm probably gonna stick to handheld from this point on. Playing this on my C1 was disrespect. :scust:

I appreciate what they were going for with the larger scale for some of the fights but I legit couldn't tell what was going on at times. And this was just chapter 1.

How do 1 and 2 look better on the same damn console? :what:

I didn't pay full price either but godamn
