Well some of you jumped up and down dissing "BatsVSupes" numbers. Looks like "Civil War" was overpredicted as it's doing less than "BatsVSupes" on opening day. Now I think it will recover as the weekend goes but it's looking like it's not going to do much more than "BatsVSupes" did opening weekend. Some of my Box Office connects are saying it may come under 80 Million Opening Day which would be less than the 81 Million BatsVSupes had. Now it seems "Civil War" has better Word of Mouth coming out of it so maybe Saturday/Sunday will do much better but it is Mother's Day this weekend. Weather has been crap on the Eastcoast so maybe that helps it.

This is what happens when people get caught up in Brands and not look at trends that clearly show there is Comic Book/Superhero fatigue/Oversaturation at the box Office. Plus "Zootopia" and "Jungle Book" are both still doing good thus familes have more options for their kids and aren't going to spend on another blockbuster reguardless if it's Marvel or not. Now for a "Captain America" film these numbers are great but Marvel did not market this film as that. It was clearly marketed as another Avengers film.
