There were people that said Star Wars being in late December would hurt Batman v Superman because people wouldn't "gear up" for another event film. There were people who said this movie and Civil War would hurt one another. There were people who said Deadpool "changed everything" and THAT would hurt this movie or Civil War.
Look, people ENJOY going to the movies. It's a family event. It's a night out with some friends. It's a night out with your girl. None of this shyt is actual competition unless they were to start falling on the same days. Midlevel projects are few and far between these days but Hollywood started phasing them out in the early 2000s regardless of what the superhero genre would do.
If they start making more Potter joints, those shyts will continue to bank also.
The next Fifty Shades will do very very well. People just like going to the movies, it ain't that serious. Though I have enjoyed this thread.
