Johns was part of Green lantern, i believe he was the writer, i'm not sure he's the best for translating comics to film. He's ok for comics though. Bruce Timm please

He was not a writer, he's only credited as a producer as were many other people. Johns didn't write or direct the thing.

I know he didn't direct but aight

No, he didn't write it either. He had very little to do with the creative process. So saying "this is the guy responsible for Green Lantern" is inaccurate.

I conceded to your correction by saying "aight."

Also, I said "I believe", as in I'm not entirely sure or concrete on that information.

Furthermore, I started off saying "JOHNS WAS PART", as in he made a creative contribution, not "Johns was responsible". Are you reading my posts or skimming through them?

In what ways did Johns contribute? I can understand thinking that maybe Johns isn't the best choice for this position but using Green Lantern isn't the best example. He didn't write it or contribute in any meaningful way.

At the time that I wrote that, I believed he was the writer...

Geoff Johns Promises To Bring "Hope And Optimism" To The DC Films Universe

Following reports yesterday that Geoff Johns has been appointed as one of the heads of Warner Bros. DC Films division to take on a Kevin Feige type role, the comic book writer took part in an unrelated press event today and was asked by those in attendance about his newfound role alongside Jon Berg. According to Vulture, he refused to confirm the story, but said that "you can connect the dots."

While he wouldn't talk specifics in regards to his new role within DC Entertainment, Johns did discuss the direction he believes the company as a whole needs to head in, and one phrase he repeatedly said was that it needs, "hope and optimism." The Rebirth scribe obviously didn't disrespect Zack Snyder's work in any way, but it seems clear like things will now be heading in a different direction, especially after Johns offered up his take on how a character like Superman should be portrayed across all forms of media. "I think people make a mistake when they say, ‘Superman’s not relatable because he’s so powerful,’" he explained. "I’m like, ‘Are you kidding me? He’s a farm boy from Kansas who moves to the city and just wants to do the best he can with what he’s got.’ That’s the most relate able character in the world." That description of how Superman shouldn't be portrayed sounds pretty familiar, right?

Taking a break from writing comics for the time being, Johns is clearly going to have his hands full with his DC Films commitments, and that may be no bad thing, especially when he has such a solid grasp on the best way to portray these heroes. "There’s a lot of emotional underpinning of the characters and the stories. It's not that people take it for granted. They’re just not as aware of it. But when it’s not there, you really feel that emptiness."

The director definitley needs some supervision....from things he's said that ive read on here, and based on seeing the movie....it seems like he really doesnt like Superman,at least not as he is.....I think with this death he's either planning on bringing superman back as something completely different than what weve seen....something even more unrecognizable than what weve seen so far, these first two movies may have just been to get you used to the idea that this wont be your typical superman...he's either planning sumthing unheard of and drastic with superman....or he has no interest in supermans story and just plans on turning him into a filler character:mjlol:....based on the writing,i really cant tell which one it is.

Either way hes failed to get us excited for this new version if thats what he was plannimg,so time to brimg sumbody in to force him to give us the typical superman....if cavil cant be that, recast his ass.

The difference is that Snyder isn't making all the decisions anymore and the two different people they report to have the same boss

When and where Snyder made all the decisions to BEGIN WITH... I never got how people assumed just because he was the director of MoS and BvS (keeping in mind he had to ANSWER TO NOLAN in MoS) that he was making all the decisions of the entire DCEU. David Ayers didn't need his guidance, nor James Wan or the director for Wonder Woman. Snyder couldn't even get the last say for the BvS, hence the director's cut.

This is a good move and possibly was already in the works considering they wanted DCEU to be aligned with REBIRTH to which Johns is also overseeing. So it makes sense to have him overseeing both.

From Empire Mag in 2015

"Zack Snyder, his producer wife Deborah, and producer Charles Roven are overseeing the entire DC Extended Universe. Zack Snyder has a whiteboard in his office with the entire DCEU sketched out."

Sounds like it to me :manny:

And then there's this

Will Zack Snyder Have Much Influence Over Aquaman? Here's What James Wan Says

Well, I think the story that I would like to tell is still at the end of the day my story. And that’s what’s cool with Zack, is that he’s actually very respectful of that. He’s actually helping me out in some ways with certain things that he’s doing with his [films] so that I can have better groundwork with the standalone Aquaman story.
