lowkey just shytted on snyder. :whew:

Superman is not relateable and Snyder was right to make supes a loner and build on supes like fukk it tho, in the movie too.

Like real talk Snyder did good cause supes had that talk with himself like why help these people they have never made this world great great,...i can fukk my bytch fukk em,....

I was feeling that and that is the direction supes needs to have as a character.
As it even played up how obsessive he was over Lois that he immediately was by her side whenever she was in danger in the blink of an eye regardless of what is going on.
So, Snyder even got right two cogs about superman where he told on film how supes was about Lois. A part that was made campy for forty years, and he actually fixed that.
Plus , yes we got to see why supes aas so moral and it did get him killed like most stories of this time rewarded truely heroic people to go along with that morbid nineties fascination with making dark heroes who will kill.
So, Snyder did a lot of good to connect the vertigo, dc animated and miller style feel into the movie that dc needs moving forward.

People making it like fixing dc is a one movie fx are completely wrong.
Dc has like forty to fifty years of fukkups to handle.

Is it in anyway possible that Nolan directs a DC film? After watching the godness that was the Nolan Batman trilogy I'm certain he could pull off some piffery. Collab with Hans again for the win :ohlawd:
Not batman again though. This batman jumps to conclusions and kills people with bullets :scusthov:

The director definitley needs some supervision....from things he's said that ive read on here, and based on seeing the movie....it seems like he really doesnt like Superman,at least not as he is.....I think with this death he's either planning on bringing superman back as something completely different than what weve seen....something even more unrecognizable than what weve seen so far, these first two movies may have just been to get you used to the idea that this wont be your typical superman...he's either planning sumthing unheard of and drastic with superman....or he has no interest in supermans story and just plans on turning him into a filler character:mjlol:....based on the writing,i really cant tell which one it is.

Either way hes failed to get us excited for this new version if thats what he was plannimg,so time to brimg sumbody in to force him to give us the typical superman....if cavil cant be that, recast his ass.
Man of a steel was a good movie.

Superman's portrayal in BvS was shytty and undid the foundation that was MoS.

So its not like this new version of Superman sucks, its just that the Superman in BvS sucks.

What were they thinking handing Snyder the key to the DC universe :scust:? Watchmen sucked, and he clearly doesn't like or even understand traditional superheroes (Superman namely) much less the most iconic figures of all time :snoop:. They need to reboot the entire thing.

So we can see another rebooted Batman, Superman, WW, etc. after we just got one? Naw, no thanks

DC Films should definitely make changes but in no shape or form should they try to emulate Marvel's style. I like the tone that was set in MOS and BvS. Let the directors tell their story without the suits at WB try to change things around. If it gets too far left field then bring it back in line but otherwise let the directors do their thing. The DC animated series and animated movies got it right so I know they can get the movies right. We don't need lighthearted stuff all over the place. Do it like they did in the Justice League animated series with The Flash but nothing over the top.

From a guy who works at WB

Johns and Snyder weren't on good grounds before the release of BvS in terms of what was going to happen in universe post BvS. It mainly stemmed from Snyder's outright refusal to listen to any criticisms Johns had in regards to the approach of BvS and the universe there after. Snyder is a very gung ho person and once he gets an idea in his mind he is going to go for it until the movie underperformed financially and critically that is. Snyder's tune has changed since then as he is working very collaboratively with Johns, Berg, and Affleck on what will be his last "DC Films" movie.

At least Zack wants to go out in "style"

Johns and Berg apparently have a great chemistry together. Both understand each other's strengths and own weaknesses. Berg is there to ensure these movies work as films and can resonate with the audience. Johns is there to make sure the spirit of the DC universe and its characters are correctly captured. This is no longer a case where filmmakers can just dismiss his suggestions like years before. He now has actual power. He can nix an idea that he finds harmful to the spirit of a character if needed.

There was some friction between Snyder and Johns for the direction of the DCEU post-BvS. Johns and Berg are going to take the DCEU slate post WW in a much different direction. JL will structurally remain the same, but enough small tweaks will be made to improve the movie and direction of the universe. Hence another reason why Ben Affleck has been given a bigger role within the production of JL. Johns's recent comments of "hope" in regards to Rebirth also rings true of the DCEU. Less cynicism. The tonal shift won't be huge, but these movies will be more hopeful.

Snyder has informed WB that JL will be his last DC film within the DCEU regardless of critical reception and box office gross. The fan backlash and workload has really wore him down. It isn't fun for him anymore. He is all in on JL though. He wants to go out in style. Many around the studio and on set say they have never seen him work this hard. He is laser focused and working collaboratively with Affleck and the new DC Films heads. He wants to go out big. He wants to make something special.

Expect the direction of Superman to change. Mos and BvS were more focused on Superman as a phenomenon and less as a character. Johns and Berg plan to change that

Fair enough, but how do they salvage this version of Superman? He's an a$$hole who's cynical and reluctant to save humanity complete with the Liefeld 90's grimdark angst - basically the opposite of Superman. Justice League just won't work with Snyder's Superman.

That should have been the obvious template from the get-go, but probably because it was a cartoon they never bothered. The Bruce Timm animated Batman is the GOAT adaptation (one of the greatest Batman iterations period).
