I always thought they could make Killer Moth look pretty menacing if they just changed the colors of his costume up a bit. Get rid of the cartoonish purple shirt and orange/yellow wings and give him a body suit that had metallic wings and a steel mask that has dark orange eyes. It would look great.

I think a Charaxes (his name sometimes in the comic) or Jeepers Creepers type bug/human hybrid would fit better.
What you're describing fits Firefly more.
