Like ya'll nikkas could do any of the shyt Jean-Michel did...

Art is about so much more than making anatomically correct figures. Even the figures in antiquity weren't totally anatomically correct. They highlighted or diminished certain feature based on their culture.

Same thing with Pollock. Color, composition, where to do what, what materials to use and how to use them.

Art is already subjective. But I don't see ya'll slamming Picasso for making squares or Monet for making all his shyt blurry as hell. :mjpls::mjpls::mjpls:

I don't get the big deal over that guy. At all.

But whatever.
I wonder if his estate gets that money.

1. Both panting are heralded as masterpieces by different groups. Why would an art historian born and raised in Harlem have the same sensibilities as one raised in Paris?

2. Two different styles of art, two different statements, two different skills being used. One is using Cubism (saying basically everything, including people can be broken down to their most rudimentary form) and another is being used to uplift the common human experience in the same way that the Realism movement did in the 1840's.

3. Comparing is natural but also stupid when it comes to art. Its an exercise in futility. There is only Aesthetics (what pleases you) and understanding the context in which the art was created and why. Everything else is wasting your breath.
you do know art predated cameras and written word :comeon:

and white people....
