Art isn't entirely subjective. There are technical aspects and political meaning assigned that can be critically analyzed on an objective scale.

I think articles like these and the price tags associated with them are ridiculous. No knock to Jean-Michele because he was a genius and despite people's critique of his technical skill, none of us alive or dead could replicate what he did in the few years on this earth.
As an artist, Sotheby's is bullshyt! They've created a direct connection between the corruption of high finance and the corruption of “high culture.” For example, a good number of major museums (Tate, Whitney, LACMA) share board members with Sotheby’s, where the value of art is synonymous with speculation. Back in 2012, Sotheby’s locked out their unionized art handlers, refusing to pay them health care during a year of record profits.
On everything - I encourage lovers of art, artist, friends & family of artist, art workers; we have to kick the addiction to obscene wealth that characterizes the American and international art world today because it's not grounded.
