nah he has worked with big n killer mike multiple times...speakerboxxx flip flop rock..n poppin tags..

breh. none of these songs drew sticks.

plus outkast was str8 crossover at this point.

you should've mentioned jay doing songs with juvenile instead.

No not at all but good music is not just regional and no one denies scarface, eightball n g, ugk, ghetto boy, outkast classics. P ain't on that level and even then people could tell he was ridding waves. I'll take juvenile having classics over P any day if we're gonna stretch the definition.

master p wasn't regional tho. but half of the artists that youre bigging up - those guys were indeed regional.

and the ones that were national, weren't hot enough to move the needle for the south.

so you tell me who REALLY has the classics.:sas1:

P might have been brilliant in.one regard but he wasn't paying his producers and artists right which led to the collapse of his empire. You can't just talk about the good points.

this is false.

you don't even know what youre talking about.

youre just in here hating breh. probably never even heard the albums that youre arguing about either.

No Jay z and you wouldn't even know who damn is, rocafella was a 3 man partnership. Every single person dame has done business with post rocafella talks bad about that dude. Don't forget about the spitta situation.

if that's the case, then why didn't jay blow up all those years before he got with dame?

and why did rocafella go to chit as soon as dame left?

I'm not saying dame is on master p's level, but yall low-ballin.

Wish I could triple dap this.

The south woulda eventually broke through but it didn't with scarface, ugk or outlast. P put the south on the map. He made it possible for cash money to get on. Look at all the crap cash money re released after No Limit gave them a lane. P is a legend. Maybe more so for his business mind then his raps but dude is a hip hop god either way

exactly.

and I'm not gonna just give him props for his business mind. cuz people didn't buy no limit albums to listen to P giving business seminars.

if the music wasn't what it was, master p wouldn't have made the moves he made in the music industry.

i'd put him no lower than top 15 as far as catalogs go.

lookin' back, i could've seen pac tryin' to sign with no limit IF he would've lived and wanted to leave after the shootin'

pac would have died on death row regardless..if he wanted to leave ...he would have..but he didnt...

j prince wouldnt have done anything either..face was dealin with bullshyt at rapalot already..

p wasnt a factor yet to even make a move on pac..

pac would still have been on interscope...goin thru bullshyt with death row..

I don't know. Pac n P were close, not outlaw or treach close but Pac took P on the road with him as an opening act. Pac was leaving Death Row to form his own label, I think it def would have succeeded. But if it didn't, by that time P would have been on top of the game so who knows.. Pac n P collabs would have melted the planet :to:

You're first sentence is my point. They were partners and blew up off each other. Just like you didn't know Jay before dame, you also didn't know dame the ceo before Jay.

That second sentence, sure rocafella went to shyt but tell me how roc nation is doing :francis:

I actually searched amazon last week to stock up on my no limit collection. All the good albums were 24-30$ a pop. All the CDs I get are under 5 bucks 90% of the time but all the No Limit ones were expensive.

He literally BOUGHT their albums.

For example, he would tell the artist, I"ll pay you $300k for that album. But the artist would ONLY get that pay whether the album sold 100k or went platinum. Keep in mind it was a risk for P as well.

You never hear people saying P fukked them over so kill that noise
So why did beats by the pound leave then?

I don't know. what is roc nation doing? they put out a bunch of corny "new black" music that doesn't reasonate with my radar. and a bunch of corny dudes that make jay look like hes still hot. all this while jay is running around, kissing white ass. I'm not impressed and I don't follow.

jay is one of the main reasons why rap sucks now.

Forgot about Beats by the Pound ... I think they did end up having a public issue .

The rumor was it was all the way over money but they left the tank on principle. P had(has) a bad habit of talking down to people. IIRC according to klc, they did want a raise but p flipped them off and they left to teach him a lesson.

I do see both sides of the argument tho. Their sound was gettin stale. P coulda added kino (sp?) and others to keep nl sound fresh. However, to have someone spaz out on you like you're a child or something on the regular gets old

They'll never let a guy like P back in the game. Dude spit so much game on ghetto d and true to the game. Exposed jews selling brothers off for 15% contracts. Going off on slick willie and his fukkery.

Nobody at first tried to accuse p of fukking them over. All artists got a bankroll, house and car in their name off top. Magnolia Slim and BBTP is the only one others I can think. P i think gave slim 300k straight outta prison. I don't believe they knew the album would go gold. shyt baby and slim make you appreciate dude even more.

I remember reading an interview with Mr. Serv-On basically saying that they were getting paid, but when they started getting into these MAJOR contracts, Beats by the Pound got some lawyers to make sure their stuff was on the up and up. P got mad and said something slick during a phone call and KLC (:blessed:) wasn't with it and they ended up leaving. The better artist on the label followed BBTP and was the beginning of the end. Mia X even said that it wasn't about the money.

Serv-On said that they got 50/50. owned their own masters and publishing. :yeshrug:

shyt baby and slim make you appreciate dude even more.
No lies breh
