No not at all but good music is not just regional and no one denies scarface, eightball n g, ugk, ghetto boy, outkast classics. P ain't on that level and even then people could tell he was ridding waves. I'll take juvenile having classics over P any day if we're gonna stretch the definition.

master p wasn't regional tho. but half of the artists that youre bigging up - those guys were indeed regional.

The south woulda eventually broke through but it didn't with scarface, ugk or outlast. P put the south on the map. He made it possible for cash money to get on. I don't know. Pac n P were close, not outlaw or treach close but Pac took P on the road with him as an opening act. Pac was leaving Death Row to form his own label, I think it def would have succeeded. But if it didn't, by that time P would have been on top of the game so who knows.. Pac n P collabs would have melted the planet

I actually searched amazon last week to stock up on my no limit collection. All the good albums were 24-30$ a pop. All the CDs I get are under 5 bucks 90% of the time but all the No Limit ones were expensive.

For example, he would tell the artist, I"ll pay you $300k for that album. But the artist would ONLY get that pay whether the album sold 100k or went platinum. Keep in mind it was a risk for P as well.

I do see both sides of the argument tho. Their sound was gettin stale. P coulda added kino (sp?) and others to keep nl sound fresh. However, to have someone spaz out on you like you're a child or something on the regular gets old

I remember reading an interview with Mr. Serv-On basically saying that they were getting paid, but when they started getting into these MAJOR contracts, Beats by the Pound got some lawyers to make sure their stuff was on the up and up. P got mad and said something slick during a phone call and KLC () wasn't with it and they ended up leaving. The better artist on the label followed BBTP and was the beginning of the end. Mia X even said that it wasn't about the money.

Serv-On said that they got 50/50. owned their own masters and publishing.
