what was the rush to unload Mozgov's contract anyway? It doesnt look like we're getting PG this season. I feel like this choice was poor. Why not develop aor experiment with a dlo/ball backcourt? i hope this pays off but i still dont like this move at all :patrice:
They thought Pacers would be desperate to trade PG by tonight but Pacers are holding out. There is no way we get him now, Celtics can get him if Danny Ainge decides to stop being cheap. The trade backfired, oh well

I like his 2 way potential, and i think his floor has a player is high because of that but im not sure I see superstar out of him. Showed some flashes but overall was very timid. Gonna have to develop that alpha mentality. Plus I was very disappointed about his shooting. I felt like there were a lot of goal post moving to protect him. I just think people are overrating how good he looked last year. For most of the year he was terrible:yeshrug:. But I still do like his potential due to his insane length and his youth. He was a baby last year. I always have to remind myself of that before I get discouraged:mjcry:

Hell yeah people overrated him last year. You're right that for the majority of the season he was terrible. Like I said Russel and Randle had better rookie seasons than him. People just seem to have more patience with Ingram. Might have something to do with him being the first post Kobe era player. Russell and Randle were expected to contributed enough to help Kobe in his last years.

Pretty much all of the players are young though and needed to be given time to develop. I think D'Lo just fukked himself over with his off the court issues.

Teams would take advantage knowing we have to salary dump

The longer they held on to Mozgov the more difficult it would have been to move him. They also wanted another pick in this years draft.

Do yall seriously think it would have been easier trying to dump Mozgov late in the season or next summer with teams knowing we needed the space to sign PG13 and with the cap being lower than expected?

He'll still walk from whatever team tries to trade for him. His agent has been telling everybody that no matter what he's going to the Lakers in 2018.

What you think Danny Ainge is going to convince him to stay in Boston? Same Danny Ainge that needs trades and draft picks because he can't lure free agents to Boston?

D'Lo is just an annoying person. You can tell that just through his interviews. But he could ball so i was all for looking passed it:yeshrug:. But it is what it is at this point i guess.
Ingram is young for his class so I guess he has a built in excuse but outside of Lakers fans and a few others who love measurables, most people I talk to clown me about Ingram consistently :mjcry:. Im praying he turns into a star, and theres still a lot of time for him to develop into one, but that rookie year was fukking ROUGH :snoop:. I need him to take a seismic leap this year

I mean this was the worst case scenario regardless. This is what the trade shouldve looked like after we got taken advantage of :pachaha:. We bailed the dumbass nets out. They should have zero lottery talents on there squad

Having a point guard that specializes in getting people in space and playmaking is going to help him out tremendously. Lakers need shooters ASAP to get the most out of these guys though.

All people did was bytch and moan about the Mozgov and Deng contracts. All anybody was saying was how the contracts were so toxic no team would take them on. Then when it became evident that those contracts would prevent the Lakers from signing Paul George as a free agent people complained about how Mitch and Jim fukked us over again....

Magic and Pelinka got rid of a contract that everybody was swearing up and down couldn't be traded, got an upgrade at the 5 (on an expiring contract), AND got another draft pick, that they turned into two additional draft picks.

They gave up D'Lo because they weren't high on him AND they had Lonzo on deck with the #2.

I understand people that were D'Lo fans being upset, but yall need to stop trying to spin this as a bad deal.

If only we had a young shooter who can play the 2 :ohhh::mjcry:. But yeah Lonzo should help him out. Will get him the ball in good spots. I just need one of them to step up and be assertive offensively. It's not really Lonzo's game so it must be Ingram. He needs to assert himself

Teams would be more willing to take on a bad contract that's got 2 years left on it then one with 3.
