Isn't Canada more of a police state than the US?

There's been a few violent police incidents here and there, but nowhere near as many as the states . Blacks, Natives and Arabs do get profiled more than others though, a lot of Canadian cops come from rural areas and never seen minorities until they began working in major cities so they have pretty stereotypical views.

Got to the station just as this happened last night. This video doesn't convey just how much blood was coming out of this kid's face. And when he was standing near that support beam, he left a lot of blood spattered on the ground. It was a pretty gruesome sight.

Strange to come home a few hours later and see it all mopped and bleached away, while everyone else walking by is none the wiser to what happened hours before.

This... from not paying a simple fare.
What was wrong with a citation to appear before a court?
